yeah.
so this idiot has his 4year old on a atc 90,
pulling the rope 3 feet at a time.
hard to start because it was in 3rd.
(will ALways start with 1/2 pull)
I yelled, "STOP' and at that moment, the lil' 90- fired
and it ran UP the branches of a redwood tree to 90 degrees and stalled,
thank the gods.
No one got hurt.
Any thoughts on neutral safety switch or presenting I.Q. cards in leiu of
ID cards?
Anyone??
and yes, I know< Ineed a new keyboards.

There isn't a way I can think of that would stop you from pull starting a machine in gear (no way to have a neutral safety switch). Education is the only solution.

Before anybody gets to ride my machines they get a though lesson in starting, roll forward, roll it back, your good, start it.

Oregon has some law that allows people to trespass / cut across property
on horses or machines without liability to landowner.
Trouble comes if you charge them for access.
On a lighter note, I did manage to bypass the neutral safety so we can roll start
the 250 es / sx models.
I hesitate to post the trick but we are lucky enough to have a hill
to roll down instead of kicking them.
With such short duty cycles and short rides, we typically start them 20 -3 0 times a day
and seems like it may help save kicker and starter gears?
A nice easy roll in 3rd makes 'em start like a dream sequence.

I had this elaborate thought using a magnetic sensor with a relay and a metal tab tacked to the neutral indicator. Then i realized there's no way to make it work when its in any other gear except for an alternate power supply and 2 more relays which there is no room for on a 90.
Pulling one in gear while feathering the throttle to get one started and finding yourself under a 3 wheeler on your back porch through the screen door is about the best education one could get. I have never done it since. Ever. Of course thats not a lesson for a 4 year old to be learning like that.
