What kind of riding will you be doing? If your riding trails a lot you may want to think about a 4 ply tire. ITP Holeshots is a good tire and so is the Maxxis Razr. If your trails are extremely rocky then you may have to look into a Cross Country racing tire that are 6 ply.

Hello Chris - hope all is well with you in Winnipeg. I just recently purchased a set of Cheetah HP577C rear tires for my '85 Honda ATC250R. Very nice and I am completely satisfied with the purchase. Perfect reproduction of the original OEM Dunlops. In my opinion - this tread pattern is the only one that looks correct on the 3rd gen 250Rs. I will definitely be purchasing the front tire when they become available in the near future.

Tech 4's are the best I've put on mine. Oem's were the worst.

I have not bought the Cheetah tires but these would be my vote:

I put a set of spider trac tires on a tri moto 175 and I loved them. The square shape of the tire really Added stability over the round ones. I was with a few utilities when I first got them and I was the only one to make it up a long muddy hill. They were all scattered and stuck on the hill but I made it on a 3 wheeler lol.. They have serious treads but they're spaced close enough together that you don't get that hopping sensation like riding on paddles.
The cheaper ambush tires are good too.

I run 18x9.5x8 on 8 inch bead locks

May want to go to a 20 for more ground clearance depends what you want but I wouldn't go to a 22 inch tire little big

When I got my 3rd gen it had 22" razors on it. Pretty good tire but too tall for my liking and found they didn't slide near as good as the tires I have now. Today I use Duro HF245 in a 20x11-9. They give the bike kinda an old flat track style look, from what I've seen a lot of people on here run them, the sideways grooves allow good sliding and they hook up a lot better than you think they would with the tread design they have. The terrain here in alberta is probably pretty similar to what's in Manitoba. Only downfall is these seem to be a bit heavy but they don't wear down that quick with all that rubber214208

The machine will become less stable and it will mess with your gearing. Less low end, more top end. But, you will have more ground clearance. There is always a trade off.

I had those duro tires, hook up great and slide great, didn't like them too much as they were either a full-lock slide or straight, nothing in-between. I use grooved turf tamers, razr mx, un-grooved turf tamers and kenda knarly(not made anymore in the 18").

Kenda scorpions are a good looking tire and are good for most terrains. I would go with a 20 inch.
