Quick look at the new low pros for the 350x rear fiberglass fenders. This is as far as I got today. I'll glue them together and get them to the glass guy to take care of the rest of the body work , them make the mold from there. Moving along fast!

A special thanks to George for loaning his 350x longer the first thought. But they are turning out great and he has been great to deal with so we are giving the 350x a little more kick for the use of his bike.

One thing I learned from the 350x racers yesterday is their boots get caught on the bottom of the stock and Maier fenders, but if you look at the 85'-86' 250r fenders they are longer and they turn back at the bottom so it's just one more thing that will make these better. I didn't know this but it's funny that they are turning out better then I thought with out even trying!. LOL

Do you know how easy fiberglass can be cut/shaved? I may want to run my 450r foot pegs and Tusk heel guards. Those are looking great!!!

Yes it's real easy, I just cut up these brand new 250r's to fit the 350x. If I can do it anyone can. LOL

Well I got it glued together and down to the glass guy the next day, but one of the guys that builds the mold is in the hospital and it doesn't sound like he's going to make it. That's all I know as of Monday.

Hey Mickey, any update?

I was just down at the glass place fitting the plug to the 350x. Now they have to finish the body work on the plug , then they can start building the mold, then fenders can start going out the door, I'm thinking first of June they will start to ship. They are going to be the best looking fenders out of all the ones I have done so far.

Hey Mickey, any update?

Oh, but if you are talking about the 83'-84' 250r they are next in line for mold making, but they won't take as much work as these are. He had a guy working for him that we thought wasn't going to live, but he did and he is home now but still isn't back to work yet that's why things slowed down.

For anyone wanting to save shipping I will be at Trike Fest and can bring them there, but you might want to place a order soon to make sure they get done in time. I'm already delivering big bore kits over there. lol

Sorry I didn't see this the other day.

I'm getting jerked around a little on these 350x fenders. Last week I was told he would have the body work done that's been there for what feels like forever by the end of the week. I just called him again when I seen this post. Now he says he might have the body work done by the end of this week. I haven't been pushing him but now I'm getting the run around and I'm getting a little upset because I got right on these and I feel he could work a Sat. or two when his worker was sick to keep up on thinks. I could of had the body work done by now my self. He has had his problems, and I know how just having one main guy out can really slow things up but now I'm getting push back I think by some bigger company's he's doing stuff for and since I don't have the 20 orders in he's put me off. My stuff was there long before these other guys I know because I was down there before their molds were even started.

So no I won't be shipping them for a while yet, and I won't be bringing any to TF. I think if we would have got the orders they would have been done. The 250r 83'-84's are sitting there with a few orders too, but he doesn't understand I need to get them done so people can see them, then the sales will come.

Sorry for going on about it but it's upsetting to be in the middle and not have any control over this.

Yes, one way or another I'll be there Sat., but if I don't have my Big Red done I won't be staying but for that day only.

I won't have any fenders there so if you want a set I'll have to ship them.

I got both my shocks so that's more important to me than fenders.

Screw it, I'll run my OEM fenders and just ask Bruce for more decals to buy.

I can only break them once....

Thanks for the update!!

I called him back today again and told him I would come and get the fenders and do the body work. He got a little upset with me and told me no, it would just make more work for him. I can understand that, but at least he knows these need to get done, it's been 2 month since I took them down there glued together!

Had some problems today but I think we came up with a good fix around the kick start lever. The problem was if we made that area the way Honda did because it is sunk down so deep they made in in two parts and the glued them back together how ever they do that with injection molding. We could have did it kind of the same way but then there would have been a big ugly ungelcoated seam you would see. So in order to get it out of the mold it's just going to be flat where the square boxes is on this little pic. That way it will still be sunk deep like the stock area and we won't have the kick starter sticking out or hitting the fiberglass. Won't change the looks much but it will look better the a two parts glued together with a ugly seam that would stick out .

I had looked at what I think were Maiers and you could se they didn't sink that area enough and the kick start lays on it. You can also see they made it flat up to the tank in order to mold theirs.

Any feed back on this is welcome.

Finally finished Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 350x fenders are finally finished, or at least one today! This has been the most drawn out fender we have ever made, but I think it's the best one too. It ended up costing me $2300 just to get this one built because we didn't have a plug to start with to build a mold off of. Now we need to start selling these. If you want a set you need to send my wife a e-mail with you full name, shipping address and phone number to get your quote with shipping. send all questions to 4stroke@embarqmail.com Also ask about possibly delivery to Trike Fest.

So I may see mine soon?? I thought I was one of the 1st guys to place a deposit and pay in full?; No big deal, I am just anxious!!

And it has the rectangle depression like the 85/86 250R and I'd like to wanna work with Bruce on a sweet 350RX decal utilizing that. Others may want 400X or 412X???? - Who knows. So many motors made......
