Anyone have the problem with the shrouds from Maier not lineing up? The holes really aren't even close. It took about 15 min to drill holes out and line it all up. now I have to get larger diameter washers to cover large holes. The top of shroud I had to put some spacer washers in between mount on tank and shroud. Would have been better if they didn't drill holes at all. Just wondering. these things are priced as gold and quality kind of sucks. and on top of all the IMS tank is a matte type finish and the Maier kit is super shiny. dosent match at all. any tricks to make shiny a little more dull? just pissed off alittle and venting. not that big of a deal but complete restore and these are final steps lookin rough.any help is appreciated

I stuck my shrouds in the freezer for a bit to line mine up on my 350x on my Clarke tank.

When I bought my shrouds for Whiskey Bent, I too had issues with fit so I sent Maier an email. I bought the shrouds from ZMPerformance but was outside of the 30 day window to return them. I was exchanging emails with Jason Maier. I outlined to him that over the past 10 years, I had had many conversations with 250R guys and the issues we have been having with the fit on the 250R shrouds. He told me that they checked their inventory and they were all trimmed real bad. He worked it out with ZM to refund my money and I took that and bought OEM shrouds. Mr. Maier also told me that its been 20 years since they looked at shroud fit so they bought a stock R tank and are going to address the fit issues at production. If you want to talk to Maier about this, here is Mr. Maier's email addy. jasonm@maier-mfg.com

Im just making sure they aren't just pickin on me. Thank u all for trailprotrailpro imput. I jst bought 350x shrouds also so I will try the freezer idea.

Yup the right side was the bad side for me as well. Left side fit no problem but right was no where near close. I barely saw the hole when i had the shroud sitting in its spot.
