Am I missing something here? I just cannot seem to get this caliper to mount. Everything seems to be about 1/4" off. The axle, brake, and rotor came off of a 84 250r. Is the 250r disc bigger in radius? The part number look the same on part house. Will I need to make a custom bracket or is it possible to decrease the radius somehow?

That is not a 200x caliper. Yes the 250r rotor is slightly larger if I recall correctly. Why did you remove the 200x rotor? If you have it, just use that. Other option is to make a custom adapter to mount the caliper.

I never had one I've been building this thing from scratch and filling gaps in the puzzle as seen fit. I will just get a 200x rotor and disc and see where that gets me. I went with the '84 axle assy to widen the back and I got it for dirt cheap from a friend. The caliper is from a cr/kx I don't remember which one. I have both.

The only thing that confuses me is that they have the same part #. Just past by the local atc dealer, (parts dude) and rode a badazz 2nd gen R w/ 310 bore, :naughty: (just thought I would add that) and the discs that he had over there were the same as on the 85 X.

213946 213947 I think your missing a bracket. Or have the wrong bracket. Im sure the 83-85 200x and 83-84 250r have the same disc front and back. The 85 250r also has the same disc on the front. I have a stack of 3 bolt 250r and 200x disc and all look the same. The 200x rear disc hub is different than the 250r. I see your problem . The caliper your trying to install is a front one front 200x,250r. These will work on the 82-84 250r because they mount on the left side. The 200x mounts on the right rear.

That sounds right, the hub I am using is from an 84 250r. If I changed the bracket would it work? Now I'm not even sure if the bracket I'm trying to use is from a 200x. I think it is off of one of the cr/kx calipers. 60 hour workweeks, pregnant nagging wife are overloading my brain with garbage. All I really want to do is build a machine.

sorry for the incorrect info earlier sir.I hear ya on the old rusty brain .I looked at the pic several times before I figured out it was a front caliper lol. I happened to have the rear brake setup from my 84 200x in my truck so I snapped the pics. Im in the prossess of making a block off plate. The emergency brake actuator was leaking.

I used CR/KX calipers on my 200X and I know that you have to use the 200X bracket on the rear or it wont work. IIRC, there are no other caliper brackets that interchange with the 200X so you need the stock one. That became a problem for me because my machines were missing the rear calipers and brackets. Folks don`t like to sell the bracket without the caliper. I didn`t want to run a clapped out used caliper nor pay over 100 for a new or reman caliper when the CR/KX stuff was more current and much cheaper used.

Yeah, I finally read that thread to its entirety last night only to realize that I had no clue which bracket I was using. My big red has a sx triple with 200x forks so I should be able to use that bracket... Right??? This issue needs to get in line with the many other parts in need of repro. It doesn't seem to be a really hard part to machine. Although you guys would be more qualified to verify my assumption.

No go on the front 200x bracket getting the job done. The one on the left is the cr/kx bracket. Right is the 200x front caliper bracket. I'm gonna do some research and see if I can switch the disc with something.214001

REAR 200X bracket.....not the front one. Front will not work on rear.
