I'm looking for pictures and information on the Jackie Meadows 125 86 Tecate. I already have the "family affair" dirt wheels scan and the black and white dirtwheels break down. Thanks

I just researched online and in my files for a hour only to come up short, I have "family affair" which is cool.

What's the black and white dirtwheels break down?

I will keep looking.

Here's some pics.

The first one has a KX125 tank, KX125 frame or modified Tecate frame?, chopper Tecate fender and what looks to be shortened forks.

This is his second gen 125. There's just not much out there about it.

The article isn't clear enough to read but I think I remember reading that jackie's fathe and the owner of tricky dick built it. If that's the case, I'd ask Andy Lillard to see what his dad remembers about it. I appologize in advance if I'm wrong about this

Congrats!, you managed to find a trike that is harder to find info on then a-

3B, Cagiva, Franks and a Tiger.

I can hear it now when I return to work on Monday, sooo what did you do for Easter? I spend 6 hours trying to find info on Jackie Meadows 125 Tecate trike.

And then I hear...HUH???

It was built by James Degaine from Kawasaki Team Green (He was a big shot at Kawasaki) I met him a few times, real nice guy, Tricky Dicks had nothing to do with this trike.

Here a pic of him-

He is running this company now, he may own it.-

Cool highlights-

DMC engine, pipe & silencer, Dave Miller is a big stud engine builder, he is in my top 10 engine builders of all time. Miller Mano is so Sano!

Check out his 3-stroke XR80 top end mated to a CR80 bottom end, the bottom end supercharged the valves, the thing is sick!

Modified front engine cradle, easy fab. job

35mm keyhole carb., old school carb. I am a bit surprised at the 35mm carb. as gnarly as Dave is I would think it would have a 38mm, I think he wanted more low end to pull the heavier trike.

Plus 2" Cal Fab swingarm, due to the lower torque, high RPM natural of a 125 I feel a stock length would be just fine...Maybe better.

The steering stem Ram Damper is trick. Probably hard to find, I have seen a few.

Early model Tecate rear hubs to run a 8" wheel.

Cut steering stops, tank relocated 1" back, cut seat foam.

Custom chain guide, quick release rear tail section.

Nice, this is a very cool idea.

Funny the carb is as big as the cylinder/head.

I don't remember the allen bolts on the ignition cover.

Bruce is definately getting the business. I can't ID two decals on the fender. The one to the right of the Bel-Ray decal and the one above the Bel-Ray decal.

I think the one to the right is "Sunstar Sprocktes".

Red one is- Tsubaki chains (Above the Bel-Ray sticker)

I am not sure, it looks like a sprocket, but I could not find any vintage stickers like that for-Sunstar, Sprocket Specialists, Sidewinder, Trick.

He has some of the same sponsors as Jimmy White. I know he used Trick Racing Products for a period of time with a Tsubaki chain, but I can find a sprocket stick for them.

It's very time consuming, not a whole lot of fun, but rewarding!

A tire pen helps a lot and a quality groover is a must.

If this tire was still available I'd try and tackle it, but being what it is and having never been used to boot, I'm just going to leave it as is.

you can buy some of them from vintage decal companies . . all the ones below are from the same place . . I think I saw DMC decals there . . they have a tsubaki decal but it is round, however, if it is the correct size, you can cut it so it is square or just use it for the lettering to get another one made from it.

Cool highlights-

DMC engine, pipe & silencer, Dave Miller is a big stud engine builder, he is in my top 10 engine builders of all time. Miller Mano is so Sano!

I was partially sponsored by dave around 1976 along with mike raines and a couple other guys . . I think tim tolars dad night have put up at least some of the money for the shop but I don’t quite remember . . dave was a local 125 cc legend in so cal but kept breaking his leg so he unfortunately never made the big time . . all the big name riders would be at saddleback or Carlsbad when they weren’t racing the circuit.

a raced ahrma vintage pro in 125, 250 500 and over 40 class around 20 years ago . . i ended up 3rd in the 125 class for the season so was half way fast . . dave had not ridden any of the ajhrma races and showed up at one in glen helen and got nearly a last place start . . by the 3rd lap, he flew by me and 3 other guys in just 3 turns . . im pretty sire he won that race, lol.

Dave and harry klemm both gave me a top end kit to test on the tecate’s because I think kawi might have been considering offering them in their accessory catalog or something but can’t remember for sure . . dave previously worked at fmf and built the infamous “snail pipe” so the bikes would have more ground clearance . . harry worked at dg during the same time.

these guys have Miller Mano decals if you want any . . i just happened across them looking thru the decal site i posted above.

That part I cannot answer, but if he's willing to make them, I would rather deal with him. Thank you for hunting those down for me though.

no prob, it was actually fun to see a lot of them again . . sorry i don't have any info on his bike, however, i do have a video i found of him a while back at a race in 85, and they show a 5 minute interview with him and one with jimmy and marty and they show them all racing . . they might show a close up of jackies 85 bike on the line which might have the decal you are trying to identify that looks a bit like a sprocket but i don't remember . . if you want it just let me know . . i can post it here or pm it to you.
