Well my old 200x needed the top end refreshed, new timing chain and guides and seals/gaskets.
Started this morning around 11

1 he into it. Did I mention I honed the cylinder, and replaced the rings just for good measure. I had a spare set of wiseco rings I purchased with the piston a few years ago just for this occasion. I have a bad habit of planning years ahead. Costs me more up front but I guess I been lucky as it always seems to ensure things work out.

3 hours later we had the motor back together.

It needs new fuel line, foam filter is drying, new plug, front wheel bearings replaced, and oil.
So for about a 3-4 hour maintenance got s ton done. I had the parts and tools ready so that helped a lot as well.

Looking good. I need to get back on my 200x, just nobody really doing powder coating in my area.

Screw it just paint it then... put your money somewhere else like suspension or a nice pair of fenders. I like PC but tome it's just icing on the cake. If it isn't feasible, don't hold up a solid build. Just use what is readily available.

yea I agree with Jmoozy27. Get it blasted and paint it yourself and use the $ for rebuild forks and shock, it will make a million times difference! get the .48KG springs for the forks.

this morning I spent an hr and finished up everything left. I got the parts form the auto store and so it did not take long to finish, I even went ahead and put on new front brake pads while I had the caliper off.

it is done and ready to ride!!!!

fenders had a much of cracks so I Frankensteined it. yup, stitched it with zip ties. works great and good to go for another couple of seasons of abuse! fired it up today. no more smoking and sounds really nice. I miss how it used to sound before she got sick. oh, and I installed a new uni-2stage air filter on it. that will help a lot on the air side. We do not run the stock box so it is open.
