So just finished up building my shelf for some of my 3 wheelers. I basically have the ENTIRE garage dedicated to mine and the kids wheelers, lol. What do you guys think?

I'm over 23 total, 18 of which run (including the 4 kid's 4 wheelers and my 350 grizzly). My dad and I picked them up and put them there. They are my 83-84 blue 110's and my 86-87 125m's, so I wouldn't be riding them much till trikefest. I just wanted them up where people wouldn't try to use them as extra seating and fenders as footrests! I guess the idea of trying to keep something nice escapes some people's minds....

No kidding. I've had several machines with pristine fenders get warped and messed up because of people doing that.

I think it looks awsome! Mine looked like that at one point then decided to thin them out.....worst decision I made

welcome to the club!!!! I needed floorspace for tall the manufacturing I do on my son's racing quads so I build a shelf. it is 6ft wide and 12ft long. I can stack 3 trikes with front tires facing at me on top or 5 with front to rear and this is just the top, then I can put the same under it. I did make it tall enough to put a full sized quad under it.

Looks like a room full of fun to me! =)

Quads take up too much space. They belong in a barn or under the overhang.

You guys make me laugh. You really have a problem when you have a 3 wheeler in your living room...and then your house catches fire!

You got me there vealmonkey, but if it were up to me i would be building my 70 in my bedroom next to the bed. The wife though won't have it...... lol

Funny you mention a 70 as the trike was a PK suspension 70. The firemen threw it out the front window in the rest of the burn pile. It wasn't pretty. It's all in a thread on here, including pictures. You are just a tad bit more organized than I was. LOL I hope you have lots of big fire extinguishers.

I seen the thread and it reminded me of when I lost everything in a house fire when I was 17. I used to build model cars and trucks and had a few that my grandpa had built before he passed away. I basically lost everything to smoke and water damage if the heat didn't melt or distort it. Since then I haven't been able to finish a model car. I had almost 40 at the time of the fire and had been building them since I was 11.

So sorry to hear that. Keep that storage area nice and neat and get a few big extinguishers.

I see room for at least one more 70 or ALT50 ;-)

I think it is more effective for the shelf space to stack them front to rear since they are not square :). I use that style of parking in my 12x20 shed and it is full! I already have plans to building a nice shelf and probably a simple removable ramp since I don't have helping hands near by.

Not sure if this will come out right, but this is what i'm talking about (ignore the dash):

EDIT:

After looking at the pic again, i see that is exactly what you did under the shelf, it must just be a tad bit too short to do that.

Yeah, i couldn't build the shelf deep enough to alternate them like i did underneath it. I mainly wanted to get the 4 on the shelf up out of harms way. I'm actually in the process of cleaning a few up to sell.
