I've got one hi compression sx that is way easier to roll start in 3rd gear
than it is to kick.
Wire harness is so butchered no ez way to make it right.

So we have about 5 more that we start and run 20-30 times a day
so thinking we can roll start them too. Hate to beat up the starter gears etc.

hmmmm. key on, switch on etc, 3rd gear and hold the shifter.....
nope.
green light needs to be on so it will NOT start "in gear'.
ez fix is a momentary contact to short out the neutral safe sw so it will
fire when rolled down the hill.

seems to work but I thought the green neutered light just prevents the electric starter from running.

maybe kills spark (prevents spark) to the engine too?

Here is a good harness for $30,,grab a new battery off ebay,,$30, ? or so,,,all fixed up again! With clean oil, these starter gears will last a lifetime. Life is short lol. Use that magic button Honda blessed us with lol! Good to see you poking around here again!

Thanks 007.
Just running out of time.
Last ebay battery has a pirate on it, GREAT write up, no response from vendor,
will not hold a charge. Snagged a battery from a known working trike and it's been good for months.
so that kinda tells me it was, in fact, the battery.

Harness should be a fast r&r now that I think of it.
Anyone had good luck with ebay batteries?

The last ebay battery I bought was for a Honda Goldwing. And it was no good. they sent me a replacement with zero hassles :) I've had good luck with the few others I've got.

The last battery I bought for my SX was a Yuasa. In 2008. It was $90, but do the math! By the time you're done buying and hassling with $35 ebay batteries every year or two, you're money ahead.
