Back in December 2014 I got an email from a buddy who asked if I knew anyone interested in a Selvys 200r, and I said yes I do --------> ME!! So we struck a deal and it was game on to get it built for the CALVMX National Race on 3/14/15. I picked up the trike on 12/13/14 and finished it on 3/14/15.

Here are pics of the 200r when found by the guy who sold it to my buddy.

212515212514212513212512212511

These were the pics sent to me from my buddy. I do not know how much time elapsed between the two series of photos.

212523212516212517212518212520212521212522212519

Once I got it, tear down was immediate...after all I had a deadline!!

212527212524212525212526

March 28, 2012 I traded with bkm a +2 Westcoast for a +4 for his beautifully restored 250r. Well he wanted to go back to stock length to race in his local series so we struck a deal and I got the +2 back.

Installed on his trike.

Back home.

212528

I had a chassis in process to build a 250r so it was an easy decision to make, use it for the 200r.

212585

bkm offered me the NOS OEM fenders that you see on the chassis, I was going to run them as I do not care how valuable they are. So I was on EBAY a couple months ago and a nearly NOS set of Maier Lo Pros popped up. I tried to trade the +4 which I had for sale on EBAY and the guy did not want to trade. As fate would have it, no sooner as I got done texting the +4 sold on EBAY and I struck a deal for the lo pro's!!!

212529

So now what to do with the NOS OEM fenders? I put up an ad to trade for a short track tank kit and tyler54 popped up and we struck a deal!! Once I got the kit I went right away to polishing the tank! I do okay with this process.

212532212533212534

Triple polished.

212535

I got a set of Ohtsu flat track tires on EBAY and it turned out that the beads were WASTED and would not hold air. So I got ahold of xowner and we struck a deal for a really nice set of 903H's. They got mounted on a mint set of 89 TRX250r rims.

212537 212538

The next step was to get with blue27 and get decals made up, who else would you have make decals?? Bruce is the BEST. I also asked him to make me the Warning decal. I have always had an issue with Warning I "drive" on three wheels. Last I checked we ride trikes, not drive them so I swapped the drive with ride. Bruce sent me decals and some number plates and numbers. Did I already say he is the BEST!!!

After getting in touch with Kenny Roberts a pipe was in process, it was completed about a week prior to the race and the motor also just got cleaned up and detailed.

212536

So final assembly started.

212539212540212541212542

Just needs a carb and few last detail items.

212548212549

Friday March 13th, I went to Cali to have the carb installed and jetted by the man himself. I worked on the 200r until 2:30 am the morning of the race. I got about an hours sleep and off to the RACES.

Chasing Kenny with my 200r on the back, did I tighten that strap....I sure hope so....all I could think of was watch it fly off the back of his truck...but it made it safe and sound.

212550

I always take off the shrouds!! Sitting in the pits!!

212553212552

Time to start the motor for the first time, no spark. My heart sank, I was devastated......my mind went right into the crapper. I figured all this work and yeah.........So Kenny all calm and cool says take the tank off lets do a couple things. We ground a wire and cleaned up a little paint and SPARK!!!!!!!!!!! I made a gesture to the heavens, I think I even shed a tear or two. Got it all back together and second kick it came to life!!

Kenny Roberts and me chilling, yeah I am the guy who looks like Mr. Clean....a name given to me by Billy Golightly at a ride in Ocala National Forest at the campground Big Scrub. Thanks Billy!!!

212554

Time to RACE!!!

The trike ran flawless, Rob was spot on with carb settings, not a single adjustment was made and the trike ran thru both motos without a single issue. It is amazing power and I was getting more and more comfortable with the power this little angry motor makes. I have a pic in the pits of it all muddy and dirty, will post it later!!

212567

Got home late Saturday night and waited until Sunday to Mr. Clean the trike.

Started by polishing up the tank first to get knee marks out of it and then did full on detail.

Finally I asked Mrs. Clean to get some "perfect light" pics in the green belt behind our house. A couple of these are computer desktop worthy in my humble opinion.

21259921260521260421260321260221260121260021260621 25932125942125952125962125972125982125902125912125 92

In speaking with Rob at the races he believes this trike was built for a factory B rider name Greg Moe and Rob sent me this pic. When Greg was done racing it, he sold it to some guy from Australia who raced it in Baja 1000. That is about as much history as I can find. To truly highlight the weekend Rob rode it around on the parade lap, I will get a pic and post it later.

212611

Also when I get a chance I will list out all the people I want to thank that helped make this dream a reality.

Unreal machine you have there, Thank You for sharing.

You made a boring day work so much better.

I stared at each picture with great detail and the only critic I could come up with is your airboot hose clamps don't match.

Awesome bike brother. You hit it out of the park with this one. The only part of the bike that could really use a little more work is the filler neck area.

Wow awesome work.Looks factory fresh. You Sir have some nice trikes. I love this one and your 200x you built last year.It must have been awesome to have Rob Selvy himself work on your trike.

THANK YOU so very much for allowing me the opportunity to rip this bike at the nationals.

...and RIP I did, I assure you. i had the little 200 motor SINGING. There is no better term to describe the sound that motor makes when its in the "zone." Those OHTS on the back were prime for that bike. Suspension is awesome with that +2 Westcoast and built shock.

all in all, an experience i will never forget on a truly legendary bike, built by legends, and assembled by our own legend, Mr. Clean

Thank you again

Had the opportunity to inspect this jewel before its first practice and motos. ONE SWEET MACHINE..... Observed Mike put in thought its paces, Rob ride it during the parade lap and MBP rip a couple hot laps late afternoon. Great looking, running, sounding trike, job well done. :naughty:

Inspirational build. Let's all do more. On a side note, it looks like they over-watered the track by the looks of the after picture.

Little update, I had Tammy Mosher at Cosmic Quads recover the seat that came with this bad chariot. I had her put SELVYS logo on the back of the seat and what can I say she did an AMAZING job.....yet again.

Put some fresh fuel in it and it fired right up. Next ride is the CALVMX nationals in March.

Sweet trike!!! I like the 57 Chevy also. I used to have a 57 Bel Air Sport Coupe. It was black with a white top.

Little update.

Calfabsssssssssssssssssssssssss swinger is fixed and installed..... COWFABS!!!!!!!

Decals are on order with Bruce blue27 at blue line graphics, yes he is the man when it comes to decals!!

It is with Rob getting a quick tune up for the National Race on March 19th.

why was it getting fixed?

The calfab? It had the typical chain rash in the front of the swingram, and we fabbed up a TM Designworks slider.

There was nothing wrong with the 200r. Last year before the race, Rob massaged the carb and then installed it. We never touched it after that and he wanted to do some adjusting and fine tuning. It has also been sitting for a year and only started and ridden around the neighborhood a couple three times :D
