Saturday March 14th was the running of the second annual CALVMX 3 wheeler national race. It was an incredible day, the weather was perfect, we had some great racing, made some new friends reunited with some old friends, and there were some amazing machines. My wife Tanya (Mrs. Clean) took many photos and I wanted to share some of them with our tight knit community.

I encourage all other 3wheelerworld members who attended to post up pics and of videos in this thread to share with our fellow trikers!!

Friday ran into some of my fellow Arizona racers!!!

One very cool and historic thing at this race was there were two Selvys built 200r's in attendance that also saw track time.

Rob Selvy built one last year to race at Ashtabula that Tom Decresente (poco loco) schooled us on. I have been restoring mine since December 13th. I finished it around 2:30 am March 14th the day of the race.

Here is my 200r with the World Class pipe builder Kenny Roberts. He is an artist for sure and all around great guy to deal with!!

I came this close to making the 3 hour trip from Phoenix. Are there going to be anymore races there this year? If not, I'll definitely make it next year and bring my 87 Tecate or 86 Tri-Z as it looks like Honda is over-represented.

97 is Bryan Ditch liguid 250r. He's from Virginia and made the long trip out to buy trikes...i mean ride trikes.

Edit: are you talking about the black #97 bike? That's his 2000 RM 80 conversion that Just Ben built

That rm80 conversion is sick. That thing will beat 350x's on the track. If I had that I would make that thing my daily rider. Considering it's more my size lol.

Greart pics Mr. Clean. I was there and most of us (Arizonians, lol) raced on Sunday the 15th in the vintage races promoted by CALVMX as well. Yes, that track was FUN to ride and they keep it in top shape too. A great weekend it was.

awesome photos! i lived in Temecula for about a yra before we moved back to Texas. I was so going to enter my 200x in that till we moved. that is one thing for sure I miss about out there. They let trikes race. Here they do not. :( But if we get 8-10 dedicated riders, they said they would do a vintage trike class on the MX track. so I am going to work that angle.

nice job guys. wanted to come out this year but work takes precedence..... The track looks great.

I raced last year and stunk pretty bad.....stalled it on starting line, but still reeled in 2 guys before the 5 lap finish. That sand is sticky too so messed me up on my riding style as I was trying to slide through the corners, but too much grip and wheelie. rookie mistakes..... but glad I got the opportunity. Maybe next year I will be there again. I had a full body sore for a week after the race last year........ too many beers and left handed cigarettes I guess....lol

I just moved to phoenix AZ - looking for riders to hook up sometime. I will post in riding section soon for AZ riders...

my proof I raced in 2014...hahaha

Too bad you did not make the 5 hour journey. 3 hours from Phoenix would put you in Indio :p

CALVMX runs about once a month at 3-4 different tracks that allow trikes. Cahuilla creek is the BEST track and is very trike friendly. I have not had much chance to race the last year or so, but check the CALVMX website for the schedule.

Welcome to Phoenix!! There are a couple of us here in the greater Phoenix area!! Tomorrow down in Buckeye there is an MX race Arizona cycle park. Even if you do not race its fun to hang out in the pits and spectate!
