I've tried searching through the forums, but all the results were 5 years old.

Does anyone know where I can get a set of height adjustment inserts for a 1985 Honda 250R Westcoast swingarm?

I'm also looking for Westcoast decals, a chain slider, and pivot bearings. Will the stock slider and bearings work?

Thanks

To my knowledge the inserts do not give you adjustment - they just look like they would - the adjustment comes from the adjustable lower link.

Decals - search under Harlan Lysne - he will sort you out.

Green 85/86 Chain slider OEM - available on ebay

Pivot bearings are OEM or pivot works for 86 ATC all the same - nothing special. Also available on ebay.

Thanks for the info!

The swing arm has two slots, 4 to 5 inches long, where the shock linkage is supposed to be mounted. From what I've seen and read, there are a pair of inserts that go into those slots. The ones I've seen have 5 holes, so I assumed they're for height adjustment.

Thanks again!

Nomad,

Check out my 86 HRC bike here - http://www.3wheelerworld.com/showthread.php/64322-86-HRC-REP-finished-!!

You will see its impossible for the linkage bolt to go down any further as the bolt is longer than the gap between the swingarm sides.

As I said you adjust height by the adjustable lowering link my 86 HRC Flat track is 2" lower than stock.

I have an extra set I think. I know a guy who made them.

I will look and let you know.

The inserts are adjustable. If I remember correctly, just put the bolt through one insert, put that side in the swingarm, then put the other insert over the end and into the swingarm. Pics are in my Selvy's 250R album.

The inserts are absolutely adjustable. I used the stock link and had mine slammed to the ground using the westcoast inserts.

bkm when I was putting my westcoast on my TRX I wondered @how the hell do you get bold in center of adjustment"?
To me there was no at to get bolt thru swinger unless bolt was bendable. So please give me direction how to use different adjustments and get bolt to go thru thank you. If you can pm me please do.

I obviously haven't assembled it yet so I may be way off, but I'm thinking that there is a reason they used inserts.

I'm going to guess, and go by what nstyle73 posted earlier. I am thinking that the shock linkage needs to placed at either the very top or bottom of the swing arm slot to allow enough room for the bolt. Line up the desired hole of one insert with the linkage hole. Then insert the bolt through the insert, swing arm slot, and linkage. Then slide the the bolt, insert and linkage into the proper location until the insert is into the swing arm slot. Then install the opposite side insert and nut.

Does that sound correct? or just confusing?

I have a Westcoast swingarm and they are completely adjustable--you can use all the holes. The inserts come out so you can slide the bolt through the desired hole and then slide the inserts into position. The inserts will be a pain to reproduce because they are a very tight fit and have a lip around the edges.

^ What he said. It's almost impossible to describe without actually doing it, but they have to be partially removed and then slid back into place.

I sent them to a guy here on the boards, he reproduced them no problem. Here they are mounted up.

To the thread starter I looked and I have three extra sets and my offer no longer stands, sorry none are for sale.

Lets see pics of the OEM bolt inside the Swingarm rails?
