Bought a 1979 atc 70. Doing a complete rebuild. Bought this neglected little guy for $150, drove 350 miles round trip but totally worth it. Plan on 3" stretch, foot brake mod, 140 motor, tall bars, and a slew of other mods. I will post as many pics as possible, any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

I ordered the ape 100 gas tank to cover the frame stretch. Is the ape 100 a direct fit or are there other mods to do to make the tank work? Thanks

I have the APE tank on mine. It's not a direct fit. Rear mount is fine but you'll have to make new front mounts. I have a real easy way to do it if you're interested. I'd also cut the old ones off and weld them shut if I were you. I wish I would have done that on mine.

Don't mind the crappy looking plastic. I still gotta polish it out.

Nice, yea hook me up! I was planning on plugging the old ones if they didn't work. My said the tank came in today. Just ordered a bunch of parts from spanglers. Got other stuff coming in from ebay. I'm gonna talk to the town welder about making a hinge mount for the fender, I want mine to use the kickstarter.

As I recall you can get them in Red White or Chrome.

I have a 70 project in the queue I was thinking of putting a chrome one on it.

The mounts are as simple as they come but they work great. I had some pipe in my scrap that was the perfect diameter. I think the original mounts were about 3/8" or so round. I used a tubing cutter to cut two pieces about 3/8" long and attached them with tapered head metal screws. Here's a crude paint drawing to show you what I'm saying.

I don't have any pictures on the frame but you basically end up with the same kind of knobs as the factory mounts.

Black, White, Red & chrome I think. They have some other cool tanks that I considered for mine.

I have one of these "Bubble" tanks and a mount I made if anyone would be interested. It doesn't look so good with the frame stretch but looks awesome with a stock frame.

Wish I could get it done faster, but 12+ hours a day as a locomotive engineer is not helping the cause.

I wouldn't run your manifold like that. Get the right one for $10 and it will tuck right into the frame like it was made for it, look sooo much better and the filter won't hit the forks.

125cc SSR.

I bought a whole Pit Bike some kid wrecked the day he bought it LOL! It bent the bars and cracked the plastic on one side but that's it. His parents threw it in a shed for a year and then decided to sell it to me for a song. I used a lot of parts off of it for this build and I'm planning on using more on my full suspension build...OH! that was supposed to be a secret :-)
