Just for my own curiosity you hear people talking about hurting performance with a dent in a head pipe... Do these dents really hurt anything other then looks... I'm not talking like a crumpled in half pipe just normal dents from riding

Are you talking about little rock dings from being roosted on or being kicked up from the front tire?

Probably more the line of like a dent from a log or something while trail riding 210109

Maybe something like this maybe not quite that big... Usually see these dents like behind front tire from bottoming out or something

Yeah not even that big really... Just had trouble finding a pick on the Internet that you could see what I was talking about

Here is by far the best explanation I've ever seen: MXA Pipe dent test (http://motocrossactionmag.com/news/this-much-we-know-the-truth-about-speed-dents-rock-dings-and-pipe-catastrophies).
My 98 RM250 has some roost dings on the belly of the pipe, but I don't feel any gain or loss. Nothing more than 1/4 inch, the FMF that got chucked had several large dents in the headpipe that affected power greatly (between 3/8ths and 1/2 deep).
There's several methods of fixing dented pipes, some DIY, but sometimes it's easier to send it off

If it was me, I would blow it out.
I have performed tests back to back and found - no difference to a ton of difference, a couple of times the dent helped!...LOL
I removed a dent for a buddy then he re-dented it.
