200x long rod stroker

was doing some researching and came across this.a connecting from a 86-newer trx200 is 3.5mm longer than 200x rod.every other measurement is the same.idk how exactly a long rod stroker works but was thinking maybe using a spacer plate and this rod would make a decent stroker for the atc185/200 semiauto models.his the pics of the 2 rods.

You will need a longer cam chain and would have to look in to clearance issues with head to frame and carb issues

i may try this with my 200es,the motor is already torn down on my work table.who can get spacer plates made.also anyone know the thickness on base gaskets.

the cases will have to me worked as the stroker will cause the rod to hit the case sides. This will be a total custom 1-off. jsut wondering, why use a 1-off unknown when there are shops like Mickey's that have known parts in stock that bolt in?

Increasing the rod length does not increase the stroke. That is accomplished by relocating the rod pin within the crankshaft.

Exactly, you can make a stroker using your stock rod. The deal is to move the location of the rod pin in the crank itself.

Stroker Crank: Notice how much higher the back of the rod is above the fly weights because of the rod being repositioned. Rod had to be turned down to clear the cases.

I put it together to help me muddle out a rod swap for my DR125 big bore, but it contains dimensions for the 200X rod and the auto clutch 185-200 rods (auto clutch seem to be .5mm shorter)

What I'm finding out more and more how well the shorter rods work in singles and the v-twins. Just look at the rod to stroke ratios on the newer engines. I just started building my v-twins with 6mm shorter cylinders and rods.

more Revs and less weight! the shorter stroke revs faster and higher.

Indy cars have a super tiny stroke but rev to the moon. 23k RPM if I recall
