Problems getting 82r wide front tire on my 83r forks

ive got a a 83r forks, 82 triples and hub/wheel im trying to put together to have the fat front tire with longer/better 83 r forks. ive got it bolted up but the caliper hits the tire/wheel.
has anyone done this swap before before i start grinding?
