Hey guys looking for rear shock options for the 81-82 250r other than running a stock shock. I have a project that I am working on and need that type of shock. It can have a remote reserve or not. I just need something that looks period correct and maybe on the high performance or race side. I'm not opposed to a pit bike shock that would bolt in. I want it more for looks vs for go. I have seen some Works shocks out there but they are pretty pricy.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks 3WW!

We used to mod the rear shock, polish it up, mod the spring to be stiffer, rebuild it and revalve it with a three stage comp. stack, to help with the linkageless suspension and put a better shock bumper on it.

Aftermarket shocks made were- Ohlins, White Power (Now WP), Works Performance and Progressive Suspension (Not very trick).

Ohlins and works might be able to still build a shock for you.

That shock has a bushing clevis on both ends, most motocross or newer bikes don't because of the linkage set-up (Not all, but most)

I have used 1986 and older Husqvarna rear shocks on many projects, they are still modern, has parts available, look trick and are made by Ohlins.
They are cheap on EBAY too!

Some are pretty long but can be shortened easily or you could mod your frame and/or swingarm.

Here is another idea, and they are pretty trick for a smaller shock.

Street bike shocks work in short shock applications, but are way to stiff, the valving can be changed- no problem, but finding a wide- short- spring that is soft enough can be tuff.
