Hey guys, check this thing out. It's maybe a bit outside the norm for this site but it's too interesting not to share. I picked it up this summer (for cheap) at the AMCA Wauseon National Meet in Wauseon, Ohio. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the builder is a member here since he told me he was into trikes and has a Tecate.
Anyway, this is a 92 or 93 Kawasaki KX250 with the front end of a Suzuki Quadracer welded onto it. A 230, I believe. The story goes that it was a good running bike until it was crashed badly enough to destroy the front end. Then the quad front end was welded onto it and the welding and fabrication are actually pretty good. I might triangulate and reinforce it a bit more but it's not bad.
The motor seems to have great compression and everything looks good mechanically. I have some more pieces including the radiators, carb, gas tank, etc. All I really need in order to start it up and take it for a ride is an exhaust pipe and the carb needle and slide.
It will probably be a total nightmare to ride but I'm intrigued and I'm going to have to try it out before I decide its fate. The problem is that I'm having trouble justifying spending any money on it since I have so many other, more practical, projects needing funding.
Anyone here happen to have any '90s KX250 parts laying around for cheap? Anyone have any experience with a creation like this?

You'll probably go through rear tires often as it'll probably be spinning a lot. Wish they would of used something similar to the missile kit to get that wider rear tire.

But who knows you don't see a machine like this everyday. It would really be a new experience. You can't exactly slide in the corners as you normally would I imagine.

If you get it driving, I want videos.

If you don't mind I'd like to take out a large life insurance policy on you six months and one day before you ride it.

That's cool someone here bought that. I vend every year with my dad at Wauseon and saw that creation on one of my trips around the meet. A few things off the bat that would help handling a bit would be to lower the rear subframe, a shorter rear shock, plus a smaller rear wheel to get your C.O.G. down. At least then you wouldn't feel like you're riding a barstool. It would level it out good too and not look so nose heavy. Good luck with it, it could be a neat project :beer
