Anyone out there know of any aftermarket frames? I'm going to be swapping out my old frame on my XR50 with a chromoly one, and going with a different swingarm. So I'll have a single shock frame and swingarm to start with. My only hang-up is how to set up the chain adjusters. Brakes may give me some headaches also. Anyone have any ideas? The rear housing is welded directly to the frame on a 70 and I dont want to cut the original frame up, so I'll probably build my own unless there may be something out of a 90 or 110 that might work. Wouldn't really care if I had to use the axle and other components. Wider axle would be a plus anyway.

well i can tell ya... if you want to play with atc 70 frames... go ahead.. they are still a dime a dozen... you can usually get a frame for like 30-50, plus shipping.. so give it a try.. you will not find a rear suspension for an atc 70.. unless you live in cal.. and then you will only increase your chances.. i can tell ya for front suspension.. use an ct 70 front end with a honda cub tire..

You guys sound very knowledgable in ATC70 scene.

I have a 84 atc70, that I use as a pit bike, that I would like to start modifying.

What tires are you running on the 8x8 wheels, and who sells the wheels? I have looked and it seems to be a tough task.

CT70 front end, what years?? How easy is it to adapt it to fit the atc?

Any other cool mods that I should look into??? I like the crazy looks I get when people see a big guy riding a atc70, it will only get better with a tricked out one.

Thanks,

gday mate

build a new swingarm and build it so it uses a rear axle hub off a atc90 better bearings wider axle use the same hubs off the 70 use ct 70 front forks, the 1 peice rear 70 fender and dont use the 70 motor use the atc 110 as u can bore and stroke them out to about 180 i think 1 of my mates built 1 like this smokes 200xs easy handles brilliant 2 also a rear axle hub fits in a 70 frame u just drill out the 70 hub and drill and bolt the 90 1 in ive just done it on my 70

though I can't quite understand the previous statement, I did see that he said to use a 110 motor... I would say NO, stick with the 70, or build a tricked out 110. Powroll has a 120 kit for the little 70 and I have read good reviews about it. check out www.powroll.com they can give yu more info. Also I don't see how this will be possible without cutting on the 70s frame at all. You need to cut the rear end out and adapt a swinger to it (i would go with 83-85 200x). and then weld in shock mounts. Best of luck to you.
