I barely rode it before I bought it. lol
Doesnt like to start cold, but pop starts really easy. It dont make any power on the top end for some reason either. It has the oil injection stuff already unhooked off it.
Im not sure what suspension it has on it either. Theres a sticker on the swing arm that says S&D Manufacturing?
It looks to have a different pipe on it- did some googling and really didnt come up with anything - maybe a kerker pipe?
It also has wheeler spacers on it.
Its gonna need a front tire too.

Those are pretty cool machines. I rode one back in the day a lot. It was a hill climbing animal. The rear swinger is aftermarket because they were originally hard tails. Nice find.

Might as well buy something if im going to get off the couch to go look at it.......
I seen this one a few weeks ago when I bought the 86 200x. It looked neat, to say the least. Im not sure if I like this one yet. I'll clean it up and get it running right before I make a final decision if im gonna keep it or not.
I like my 83 200x way better so far.
The 175 might be a good winter beater, then I can keep the x mint lol

I found a 84 200E Yamahauler in a barn in Illinois . Cleaned up really nice . Listed it on ST. Louis CL . A guy from Shawnee Kansas calls me , and sends me $50 to hold it . Drives three hours one way and wants to ride it ,,, thats fine . Starts runs rides looks like new ,,, gets back from the ride and says " wish I would have brought my mechanic buddy with me " I said sorry to see you go back empty , enjoy trailprotrailpro ride home . He says , I'll get the money .

That sticker on the tank stands for richter privateer systems. trailprotrailpro exhaust could be one of those.

I plan to get it running correctly first. lol
It needs a good cleaning/ degreasing yet.
It leaks gas pretty bad if u don't shut the gas off and transport it. The overflow/ vent is plugged off too. Could be why it runs like crap and the float height is off..
Tomorrow I'll take the carb of and look in it. I'll make a block off plate for the oil injection too. The oil injection line is still hooked to the head yet too.

Neat score. Does't look like a pro-tec kit as they had a cast aluminum swingarm. Looks almost like a DG pipe. The DG pipe had 2 different pipes, one for the 125 and one for the 175. A pro-tec pipe came with the parts to fit either engine. Don't forget to premix your oil into the gas or your engine won't last long. The 200x can't be compared to the 175, so please don't. But a suspension kit was a big improvement for the 175. Now you just need a DG head and a better front end and a lot of tweeking and you will have it all sorted out. You can even pick up all the parts to make that engine a manual shift if you want, but it will take alot of looking. Congrats and have fun.

You don't see many machines like that on the east coast here. My search continues. All the cool race bikes are out west.

I got it to run better then it was. Took the carb apart and it looks really clean. I can get it to start when its cold now, needs a choke cable to be happier.
It still bogs out on the bottom end and the top end. Midrange it wants to pull the front tire sometimes :D
I was gonna mess with it some more today.

I remember the S&D name from way back - but that's about all I remember.
There was a shop in Palm Springs that made swingarms and stuff for a while. Was it S&D?
Regardless, your YTM is way cool.

I had a 84 kx 80 carb and boot on my yt 125 , its 32mm. It works good on my blaster cylinder conversion too but you use the blaster carb boot for that.
