Anybody out there enjoy driveing on rough trails? You know the ones with no dirt. Just rocks, rocks and more rocks? Out here in Easteren Canada there is quite a bit of bed rock or granite. Only the old Rail bed is smooth and even thats getting bad. Anyway. Alot well all my friends who all own quads mainly 4x4s don't know how I can drive let alone the speeds i attain on these trails. And since haveing lighting problems from the get go with my 85 Tecate havent had a head light in 14 years. This again makes people question me on how I can drive these trails with no light on rough 4x4 trails at the speeds I do. If you doubt my talent go check out my youtube channel Tecateraceway and look for the night vision video. This video is no photoshoped vid. And this was the rail bed I was on. Lets see your rough trails

I must be lucky. The only serious issue I have on my local trails is large tree roots and very steep banking in corners (which is actually kind of cool, makes it like a race track). Some corners bank up to 5-6 feet high over a period of 20 yards. I really wish I had video.

I was out in the desert last week end chasing cyoties through the scrub brush and it was ruff riding. Blew out both fork seals . The salt flats where nice though. I have never had 6th gear wound out wide open for miles.

I did Idaho panhandle in august... terrific riding and terrain overall... But nearly destroyed my tires due to the sharp rocks and scared me to death due to the endless uphills up the mountain, with little to no stops until the peak... Ha Ha my R survived, much of the steep unknown terrain was too brutal for anything above 1st gear and I was hanging on my tank and over the bars when needed to keep the front down.... I was pretty happy how reliable my bike ran.... but the 4x4 quad trails left me questioning if I should have grabbed a 350x.... I got beat to trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro! But the sharp rocks reminded me to NEVER LET GO, and CONTINUE!

Great Time!

I would think some of the sportier models would do better. You've got good gearing, a manual clutch, better suspension etc.
