any dyno#s for a tri Z?

i took apart my tri z top end and did not have a chance to get some dyno figures in stock trim. i have 2 separate cylinders and going to experiment with porting. i have tested other engines at the same dyno so i have some baseline # on other machines and know how they run with their respective hp #s. for example, bone stock honda trx 250r made around 33whp on that dyno, my ftz ported long rod 250r atc made 49whp.
im going to be doing some filling around the ears to add material for extra porting around the boost ports. ill be taking pics to keep track of what was tried and then possibly try something different on the next cylinder. so if anyone here can help with stock or built dyno #s that would be nice.

Stock was 38hp at the crank, same for the third gen 250R. ATV on Demand dynoed a well running stock 250R and it dynoed somewhere in the high 20s for rear wheel. I would imagine the Tri-Z would be right around there.

Xrider has a really healthy Z that dyno'd in the mid 40's. I think he talked about it in his flat track thread.

slash fan:would you happen to know if they ran with them with the factory tires? many of the pics I've seen in old magazines doing dyno testing use the factory knobbies that can give low and inconsistent #s. Just curious.
Bkm: so mid 40s is a decent # then. That is what I'll be shooting for then.

If you are dynoing your Tri-z at the wheels, you need to use as smooth of tire as possible (Mine was dyno'd on 16" flat track tires)

I'm pretty sure they used Kenda Scorpion tires for the test on the 250R.

I use Hoosier slicks. Try to b consistent as possible so that I can use the numbers to reference other machines #s

I think I remember reading that the '86 Z was at 33 HP. The 250R claimed 39 HP but was more like 37. The '84 250R was at 28 HP. Stock quadzilla is at 52 HP. For comparison my dirt bike two strokes the KTM 500's stock were at 65 HP! KTM 550 two strokes 62 HP.
