Hey guys need your help. Need to know what you think this is worth. Not much up on Big Reds but a friend of mine has this and it may be for sale. It was his Father In Laws and it has been setting as you can see for a while but is in excellent condition. It is a shame on the tires.... I know the Big Red is the King Work Horse of the Three Wheelers. The Honda Dealer I worked at when in school sold a ton of these. My brother and I was the one's putting them together. lol
Any help and in site would be appreciated and Thanks in Advance!

That thing is awesome, if it was down here I'd fight off a thousand gun toting Cajuns to get my hand on it. That my friend is a nice find and I hope it stays in good hands and is restored to its original greatness.

Looks decent...The time to buy it is when you see it!! Might be gone the next time. I would pay 500 cash for it if it was down here..

If it has spark, electric start works and the rear end isn't pooched I'd say it would be closer to 1K. Cosmetically it appears to be good. I know pics are tricky some times but if the tires aren't cracked they might be salvageable.

I agree, those are the stock tires and very hard to find. Even if they leak a little you can put tubes in them. I bet they hold air. Check the differential oil and see if the motor turns over.

Looks like LOTS of unmolested parts on her! What it's worth and what you'd be willing to pay are two different things. If your friend knows what he has he can get very good money for her just sitting like she is. Or, you may be able to steel her. Or, he'll give you the friend discount.

Cool find, nice to know the right people. From what I can tell nothings smashed on it, just been sitting. Personally I wouldn't hesitate at $500 bucks. Even the seat doesn't look cracked. Buy 3 tubes for it and give it a bath. Hopefully you're able to get it going again. Good luck

In my area that would be a 1k plus trike.

That thing would bring a ton o cash if it turns over and the tires could be saved. Hell, I'm in Oklahoma, shoot me a PM and lets talk turkey lol. I would be highly interested in that thing for sure. But I am sure you have plans. I have saved a lot worse projects, but I bet that would nice with some cleaning. Keep us posted!

A friend, and customer of ours, picked up an 87 Big Red around this time last year. Brought it to me to work on, and I was amazed at it's condition. I was getting a woody just seeing it. Was a one owner bike before he bought it, it was all original except the front tire and the tank was NOS condition. The fenders had scratches so light you had to be sitting on the machine to see them! I was in love and wanted to buy it from him badly, especially since he was kicking around having me go through it and selling it for profit. I only had to perform a basic tune up, adjust the brake cables and levers, change the oil and filter, checked the valve lash, adjusted the clutch, replaced the battery, adjust the base idle, and test rode it. He bought it for $400 + a rifle that he owned for nothing, and sold it about a month after I serviced it for $2500. I just didn't have the cash. This bike looks like it could clean up to bring just as much.

They go for around 1,000-1,500 on this end of the country. Well worth $500. Nice find!

This thing is nice. The pic does not do it justice. It is like new under the dust. I think the tires will work especially with tubes if need be. I'm sure it would need a new air filter, carb cleaned, everything adjusted and oil changed. It would take over a grand to buy it. It currently is not for sale but could be bought.

If it did clean up as nice as a new bike what do you think it would bring?

Maybe Both......
I hate to see it just rot to the ground but I really don't need it. I would like to see it saved.

Nice find, Joseph

I want that generation BR really bad and its fairly close to me.

I told my son I wanted to sell my 85 200X flat tracker and buy one of them after we were at TF this summer.

I`m too crunched up for racing anymore so I wanna join Andy`s BigRed outlaw gangsta club....or get me a horny hat and a Mr. Microphone to go with my Big Red Bagger like ditchmud`s ride

Edit to add: PLEASE, do not part that thing out!
