85 and 86 big red axle

I was curious what the length of the rear axle is for the 1985 compared to the 1986 big reds are. I ordered one on ebay and its longer by 1/4 inch than my original one and my BR is an 85.

The only axle that will fit an 85 BR is an 85. 86s & 87s interchange.

The one they sent was supposed to be for an 85 but its longer so I wanted to make sure my rear end hadn't been changed out mines 30 1/4 long and the one they sent is 30 1/2 if I remember right.

One of them may be an sx axle which will still work. If I'm not mistaken honda made an 85.5 model but I am unsure of the changes, maybe that is one of them.

If I remember correctly mines an 11-84.
