Recently bought a 250r and these brackets came with the bike, guy was unsure where they went, any ideas?Sure do. Those brackets go from the bottom, rear, radiator mounts to the front tank mounts. Here's a pic, since those are worth a 1,000 words. I just happened to have my radiator shroud off, as I was repairing a few cracks in the shroud.

Can you post a pic of the crack repair in your shrouds ?. Mine are pissing me off !

Here ya go Bob. I'm sorry I didn't take any "before" pics of the cracks. Hopefully this will hold up to the test of time. The crack in the top of the shroud was opened up about 1/16" before the trip to Dumont Dunes this last weekend, and it had been that way for quite a while. During the ride, I noticed it was getting worse, and by the end of the day, it had opened up to about a 1/8" gap at the top edge. The shroud's bottom hole had been cracked for quite a while as well. The bolt was still in the tank, but there was no plastic in the area of the bolt to secure it to the tank. You could pull the bottom part of the shroud (by the bottom bolt hole) away from the tank as the shroud was only being held by the top 2 bolts, so I decided to have a go at repairing both cracks when I got home. Epoxy was used to repair both cracks, and the plastic was roughed up for adhesion purposes.

The top crack was constantly spread open when relaxed, so first I squeezed it back together, and melted the plastic together in a few strategic areas with a heated screwdriver. Second, I put a coat of epoxy around the repaired area. Then I reinforced the area with piece of bailing wire, which was wrapped around the repair and laid into the epoxy. Finally, another coat of epoxy was put over the wire, completely encasing it.

The bottom crack was repaired with a piece of plastic, which was cut from an old 350X headlight bezel. It was cut to shape and then epoxied into place over the broken area where the bolt goes. Additional epoxy was then spread over the entire repair area. After the epoxy had cured, a new bolt hole slot was drilled in the repaired area.

Unfortunately, due to clearance issues between the tank & shroud, the epoxy can't be too thick otherwise the shroud won't fit right. So, hopefully the epoxy isn't too thin, and cracks immediately, or just doesn't adhere good enough to the plastic. Only time will tell.

My brand new oem's lasted about an hour before one of the holes cracked. I may epoxie the back side of all the holes to help keep the rest from cracking.
