Hey guys, I just brought home an '83 200X. I can tell that the rear master cylinder has been mounted to the frame using some sort of home made bracket, complete with crummy welds and all around lousy design and materials. I'm not sure why this is. Maybe it's not the original master cylinder? Here's what I have.

Can someone post a picture of the way the master cylinder is mounted on an un-budda'd 200X so I can determine what I need to do to sort it out? I'm guessing that the '84-'85 is similar. Thanks a lot.

Looks like they may have modified the stock mounting plate. Can you remove the master and take a pic so we can see the damage.....

that's a 85-86 atc250r master cylinder. if you don't like it, buy a YFZ450 one 2004+ egg the holes and bolt it on. I did that to a few 200x's or find a decent used one rebuild it and throw it on. Most of the time they are not worth you time to rebuild and rusted shut.

Not an 85-86 ATC250r Master Cylinder, first pic attached is 85-86 master cylinder, not sure what it is.

Also included a couple pics of an un-bubba'd setup.

Thanks for the tips and the pictures. Kinda like I suspected, it looks like someone swapped some other model of M/C onto the trike. The bolt holes didn't line up so they made that bracket. The good news is that I don't think the frame was damaged in the process. I'll just need to find an M/C that fits properly, so thanks for the tip on the YZF setup. It's always nice having options.

Not sure if any of these help but they were handy.

Can't remember what the master cylinder is from - like a CR or KX 80.

This is on my 84 200X with a Lifan swap so I had to adapt a brake pedal - mostly 350X parts.

The master mounts to the frame on stock mounts.

Hose routing is improvised also due to different configuration of inlets/outlets.

Looking through my stash of parts turned up a rear master cylinder from a '96 Suzuki RM125 that looks like it might be an easy swap onto the 200X. I've got the whole trike apart now but I'll report back once I learn more.
