View Full Version : Timing Problem?

Hey,

So long story short, I rebuilt my whole engine on my ATC 200. I finally was getting the top end together, when I noticed this:

198566

I am unable to align the dot with the notch up top. It ends up being about a half tooth off... Note that it is perfectly TDC, new timing sprockets, new timing chain, etc.

The only reason I am thinking it is like this, is because the machine shop didn't line it up, when they pressed on the new timing sprocket. So, I decided to assemble it like this picture and will try to start it tomorrow.

My question is; this normal? Will it work fine?

Thanks in advance,
Nate

Looks like your good. It usually looks that way- just past the mark with the chain tensioned.

Just rebuilt a 200E this weekend, same thing. Runs fine. Just double check everything. If the fly wheel ticks are lined up, and the cam lobes are down, then you're okay.
