Picked up a Big Red. Guy said it was a 1986 over the phone and he was asking $1200. I get there and look at the title and it shows it's a 87....The title is the original owners title and still has the dot matrix printer tear offs on it... Came with the owners manual in the lid of the trunk and originally the old man had the honda dealership replace the thumb throttle with a twist throttle so the thumb throttle was still in the bag with the thumb throttle receipt. I talked him down to $800 and I had these tires and rims laying around so I threw those on there and switched it back to thumb throttle... I'd love to find a set of the OEM tires if anyone knows where I can get some. Anyway... super stoked and just wanted to share a couple pics of me taking it out today with my son198136198137

looks great, looks like an '85 seat or cover tough, should be gray for '87, either way '87's are a tough find, congrats.................:beer

He purchased it new in '86 so maybe he just thought it was a '86 and never looked at the title close... " shrug"

Just ordered a nice replica gray seat cover off ebay to get it changed out. Just got to find some Ohtsu tires now and I'll be ok with it as is unless I come across a good deal on some hondaline parts.

Super nice!
Are you interested in gettin rid of the mudlites. I have a 87 stock with original Ohtsu's. They hold air and are in good condition. I have been thinking of going in a different direction than stock. I know I will be stoned to death for saying that.

Very nice trike. Cool to see your little guy is in to going for a ride as well. Is that a deer hunting stand in the background? (coming from a fellow hunter)

Wow. Wish I could have found that lol. I have a mint 85 and 86. Been looking for an 87 to compete the trio...I have seen some in that good of shape listed for 3-5K.

Would rather have spent $800 on that as opposed to my recent casino trip where I lost $800...

No , sorry I wouldn't be interested in trading them out. If you decide you want to sell your old ones I may be interested though.

Yeah, he loves riding the 3wheeler with dad... He has a very nice ATC70 waiting for him when he gets a little older...Yes, I was working on that stand the day of the picture. I decided I wanted a little more fluff for the morning hunts so I accidentally ordered a few too many boards when we built the new deck this year.... haha...

I found a gray cover on ebay that says HONDA on the back for $30... seemed like an ok price and I have used them before on other big reds and they worked out great. first time finding one with HONDA on it though... METAL STRIP ? not sure if mine does... is it something unique to the 87 ?
