Dammit, I can get this thing to run perfect in two week intervals, and then something always f**** up.

Ok, now that I got my frustration out, my '82 110 will start up perfect when its cold but as soon as it starts to warm up it dies instantly with no signs of coming back to life for about 3 or 4 minutes, or in other words...gets cold again. I did a test. I let it set overnight and in the morning before I started it, I pulled the plug, cranked it, and got a nice fat spark. I started it and let it warm up. It died, I let it sit for about 4 or 5 minutes, pulled the plug, got a very weak spark. I started it again and let it run until it quit, pulled the plug as soon as it died and got no spark at all. I'm almost positive its the stator coil, but this machine has been leaking gas alot through the lines and I have noticed all of the gas that has leaked out has went directly on the cam cdi wires. Could this be the problem? Does anyone have both the stator and the cam cdi units? Thanks in advance!!

sounds like something is getting heat soaked (shorting out ounce it heats up)

your primary coil on stator may be going out...

Do 82's have Points and condenser? My 83 didnt and I thought it was about 82 or so when they aced the p&c

It might not sound right ..but swap that plug for a new 1,and then see what it does, had same prob w/ an 84 200s last week and the problem was solved, also the stators go bad and some will show the same signs,(broken wire or bad connection) Check those trailprotrailpro you go spending $$ on other stuff, also make sure you have a good ground!

Do 82's have Points and condenser?

Nope. They started making the 110's and maybe other models a CDI in 1981.

It wasn't the stator or the cam cdi. Wasn't the ignition coil, CDI, gas, oil, valves, carb, or timing ;) . lol, it was one little tiny piece of wire coming from the kill switch (took me forever to find!! ) that came unspliced and was grounding itself on the frame, acting as a kill switch. Coincidently, the wire would ground out as the engine warmed up causing me to believe that the stator was going out.

But now I have another problem. When this first started to happen, I took the carb apart thinking the jets, petcock, or pickup might be clogged and when I put it back together all my needle settings were changed and I lost the manifold gasket. So now I have an airleak and too lean of a setting but atleast it runs now. :-D
