X2 on what 90 guy said. I've been working on my 82 lately.
Fresh topend w/ midrange port work
Decked head
Boysen pro series reeds
Reed spacer
85R carb w/ uni and outerwears (no air box)
Bassini pipe w/ white bros silencer
Bikebandit.com is good for small oem hardware as well.

Just remember the longer you go with the swingarm the worse it handles. Unless you just want to build it pretty much strictly for drag racing or hill climbs. If you want to "ride it" I would spend that cash somewhere else. For the price of that swingarm you could have new plastics, tires, and pipes. But if you still want to extend it And are looking for the best deal or and or quality then i would wait until you're a full member of 3ww and buy from There. I've looked around myself and they're not cheap and not real common. But members here seem to have everything so I'm sure someone can hook you up.

looks just like my buddie's 81 250r. he had different tires and a different after market muffler but otherwise looks identical. nice act by the way. i loved the early 250r machines.

thank you all for the info.. i have decided to not go with the extended swingarm, not for the trails i ride anways.. now im thinking i want to increase the handling how would i go about that?? i have been told to switch the forks out withan 85, would that be a good idea?? im a huge fan of the 250r just dont know a whole lot about it..

The popular for swap is 83-85 200x or 83-84 250r. 85-86R forks would require some fab work.
You could also get trx300ex or 400ex rear hubs with different wheels and tires. That would help your stability in sliding corners.

I have a couple parts I'd part with if you are interested..I am willing to trade if you have a sweet sectional for an 83-84 R like a Bill's pipe or somethin...
1)DG silencer used $40
2)Boyesen Rad Valve w/ carbon fiber reeds $75
3)New Keihin PJ 34mm carb has less than 5 minutes on it, bought brand new $150
4)NOS Mossbarger intake $200(not tryin very hard to part with it)
