I pulled apart my carb and rebuilt it. I also replaced the rubber carb holder. when I had the reeds out, I noticed that a couple of the reed valves were not completely closed. Are they supposed to close tight? What will the open valves do to my performance?

If they are the stock metal ones, just take them off and flip them over. Over time they all begin to curl outward, and if you periodically flip them, the metal ones will last forever. Fiber ones do wear out eventually, but again, periodic flipping, makes them last a lot longer too.

They are the fiberglass or fiber ones. I tried flipping them over, but that didny work. I guess its time for a new set. What should I buy?

If you have the stock reed cage, you probaly just want the standard Boysen Power Reeds. I assume your putting it in the Kaw in your avatar, so I cant say whether youd benefit from a different reed cage system, as Ive no experience with it. On the TriZ you gain little if anything going beyond the power reeds.

I think Timsr. means Boyesen reeds. Get the duel-stage fiber ones!
