So to start off my dad purchased a 200s about 5-6 years ago. It ran great and then we had to move. It was stuck outside for 2-3 years and I turned 16 last year and looking to get it running again.
I purchased a plastic gas tank (metal one was rusted), Petcock, Carburetor, Air Filter, and a Spark Plug. Everything came to $158.
The only two problems I have now are the throttle slide, and the valve lifter/decompressing cable, there isn't one. It never had one before but could I possibly wire tie it to a certain point when starting it? and what should I do for the throttle slide being stuck, because i cannot pull it out of the existing carb. Every part should be here by Friday. I haven't seen many threads about the problems I mentioned.

Remove the cap on top of the carb and spray some penetrating fluid at the slide , it should free up shortly after or let it sit until your parts come in .

Nice to see you're trying to get it going again. Save another one from rotting.
Far as decompression cable goes... its not required to have it hooked to recoil. Not sure if tying anything will help, end is meant to catch the plastic cage inside recoil. One of those things if it works great, if not wouldn't worry about it. Can always reach over tank and flip up if needed.
If it sat for a while and you got tank problems, not sure if petcock was left open. In my experience have seen gas leak thru carb into motor. Plus moisture over time. I'd recommend changing oil before doing anything. Takes 1 1/2 quarts, but maybe you've already done that

Hey everyone! I got my packages from ebay, the plastic gas tank I ordered was packaged with the wrong flange so I am waiting for a new 14mm one. I did replace the oil as you said Bumsted200s. I got my throttle slide out, let it sit for 9 hours with some WD-40, and pulled on it tonight and it came right out. I took the carb off aswell, and will be putting the other carb on whenever I get my gas tank. I also stitched up the plastics. I'm doing this all on my own, with the help on resources online like all of you guys, thanks for everything! :)

I remember trying the zip tie stitches lol. We gave up and just made our own that are a lot more durable.

So I put my new carb on, the spark plug, air filter, and waiting on the new gas tank piece. Rigged up a hose and a old bottle for a gas tank and it runs! I just a new shift lever because the one I have isn't for an ATC, has anyone used an aftermarket one? Or just bought a used one?

Changed my rear right tire as it was completely shot. Took a sawzall to the sidewall and slowly chipped away at the bead with screwdrives and a pair of cutting pliers, after awhile I got it back to life. Took it for a ride and is a great runner! Anyone have any idea about the shift lever I asked previously?

Ims made a decent aftermarket shifter back in the day but the EMGO shifter made today is junk in my opinion so best to just buy a good OEM used one .

Got my gas tank flange today. Fitted it, and ran into a couple problems. I needed to file down the hole for the gas cap, it was just to small for the cap to go on easily. My breather/vent needed to be rigged so it would stay. I had to fish it out of my tank 2 times. In the end it all came out clean. I will take pictures tomorrow!
