hi, i have a built 200e motor in my fabbed x style chasis:
uni clamp on filter, dg carb, ported head, webcam hi rise cam, tit valves and hd springs, 12:1 comp. and dg exhaust.
it runs great, ok power overall but not impressive
outran a stock 350x on hardpack all the way to a tie on top speed, the 350x will destroy it on any uphill though
anyone have any hot setup 200x's?
just seeing what tricks and parts work best
long live the 200x!!

yea im not impressed with the webcam either, didnt seem to do a whole lot other than move the powerband to higher rpm range, which is good for me in sand dunes, i wanted more low end so i put the wiseco 12;1 piston that did the trick, still it only dynos at 14hp to the wheels, stock was 12 to the wheels

Strap a go pro or your camera of choice to the guy you whooped on the 350x, then you will have a video of a fast built 200x :D

we were both suprised my little 200 beat his mint and i mean MINT 86 350, he was extremely dissapointed, i just told him - jon you paid 1500$ for your 350x, ive got that alone just in my motor, i better have beat your 350!
his 350x will stomp my 200 on anything but hardpack though, any hill, any sand etc.
is 14hp about normal for a built 200 motor? seems low to me?

Honda's factory rating was 18hp at the crank according to the manual, but we all tend to agree that was a bit high. 14 on a built motor? There's something wrong.

14hp does seem kinda low after all that work

I would think it would be somewhere around the low 20s at the crank honestly. So wheels probably like 16-17 sound like where it should be. Which would make sense since a stock 350X is about 20-22 at the wheels (27 crank) which would explain why he gets you in most tougher stuff. Maybe your carb isn't tuned right.
Not that it really matters though, all that matters is that its faster than it was.

yea im beginning to think the dg carb is a lemon for me, i had to dynotune it to get the correct jetting.
14 was impressivley low! i figured at least 16hp? it runs great just is not what id expect from it
it has more top speed and will crest banshee hill in 2nd gear instead of first now thats about it.
a old rider said that the uni clamp on filter is not a good choice, and the stock airbox is alot better, i had to remove it to put the 200e's battery in
it is a 200e motor not a x maybe this is why hp is lower?

It actually could be a factor in the lower power at the rear wheels just because its an auto. But still, 14 hp with a ported 12:1 motor is not right bro.
Are you positive the dyno was set up correctly? Do they have a dedicated set of dyno tires for consistency? Its super easy to manipulate the numbers on a dyno.
Who did the porting? Did they flow the head? What were the numbers?
If you really did beat his 350x, either his bike has issues, or the dyno numbers were wrong. Either way, no 14 hp 200x has ever beaten a great running 350x in a head to head race where both bikes made a clean run. The math just does not work.
Maybe he let you win, and he's setting you up to take your money. :D

the shop is called oregon coast powersports, they dyno all day every day, he did the porting as well.
14hp sucks, he said it is what it is a stone age motor...
it runs great so i dont know what id do to it from here?
my 200 really did outrun jons 350x on the flats, if its any reason for my win, he had paddles i had 400ex tires, his 350x is bone stock absolutely mint cond, a 10 out of 10

Your motor started out at around 10.5 HP stock, you are running a 200e motor. So after the mods and considering you're running threw an auto tranny the 14 HP at the wheels is pretty good.

thats what i was thinking, i think a x motor would produce better #s. its ok i guess, i truly appreciate the e-start and auto clutch, and like that i can pull a trailer with its low range.

Ah I was thinking it was an X motor. Yeah the E motor would be a bit less naturally.

it still tops banshee hill and sidewinder in winchester bay and does almost 70mph on stock gearing so im happy with it.
