So its time to rebuild my piston on my 1984 kxt250. I was just wondering what piston to go with. On ebay i found a ART piston for $105 or i could buy a Wiscoe Piston for $120. Does it matter which piston i go with? Also is there any other places i could buy a piston for cheaper?

I went with a Wiseco, no complaints.

Here's one shipped for $108

Have you measured yours? That one is stock size.

Mine didn't run when I got it, so I can't say.

Alright, i will order it and see how much of a difference it makes because my bike just doesnt have power it misses. Its not the reeds or the carb so im pretty sure it is the piston

Well ART is the maker of like all the OEM pistons for Jap motors like these. ART is cast where as Wiseco is forged.

What really matters is bore size and the piston. They should be machined/nikasil coated to match. Most people run Wiseco.

I got an ART kit with gaskets super cheap for my friends LT250R and it runs fine,
