Sorry i didnt post em. I'll try 2 post em up 2morrow after school. Its a sad story though, the motor buried under ground Just the chassis. Any ways the guy who had it before Mike used to race it back in the day. He took the motor out & put it in a wooden crate to rebuild the motor. Sure enough he tore the shed down, accidently buring the crate. Several years rolled by after he concreted a slab and built another shed. Then it hit him where he put the motor. I just wanna cry. The guy said he wasnt sure if the motor was under the slab.our luck ITS BURIED under it! Well hopefully I can go 2 his house and get better pics. At 1 time he asked me 2 buy it at an Amazingly $75.00 Yes u heard correct, but now he wont sell it. he wants to put an 82 250r motor in it. Iwas gonna buy it,but i had only $49.00. Then he changed his mind when i got it. WTF
That's cool, i can't wait to see the pics! But man, I wouldn't put any motor in that little frame except whats supposed to be there! that's a rare find and should be restored to former greatness.

Man, this wait is worse than waiting for Christmas. I think the 80 may be the Holy Grail of Tigers.

I don't know how big the slab is but for a jewel like that It wouldn't be beyond me to take a shovel and dig a tunnel under the slab to find it.

Trikeaholic.... that would sure be a nice trike for the boy AND look sweet next to that mint Tiger 200 and if you get that Tiger 250 by you.
We could change your name to the ' TIGER Tamer' ... or 'Pack of TIGER's'
:D
Bruce
.... or maybe to " TigerHolic".
I dont see why that motor would be so hard to find. Those were built around KTM 80cc Motocross bikes. I would imagine a mid 80s KTM 80 would be TONS easier to find than the rotax motors of the bigger bikes.
Great to see pics of that little jewel!

umm, mines a 250, but its certainly no 85 250R!! they are the greatest machine ever to come out of japan since the betamax!!!!!! :D :D :D
PS, I HAD a 1985 or so KTM 80 sitting in my barn for a while, But I got rid of it. I got it for the lil holic, but the thing was beat, motor turned over though. I shoulda kept it, but the chances of me buying a rolling 80 are pretty much ZERO.

P.S. - Was down to my Mom's house trying to get her water to work again and went up to the attic and got all my old ATC mags out of storage. Saw some nice Tiger articles. I'll try to scan them for you.

i would get a crane...or a backhoe depending on the size...and see if it can lift up this concrete slab...it would be worth the effort...
WOW! I have never seen them tiger trikes, except for the pic's. I see it say's {made in U.S.A.}. where were they manufactured :?:

i would try for the rotax for that baby. it probly cranks more than an R engine, especially in that flat track 80 frame. plus the origonal engine would be nice for a resto. i hope you do get that 80, it would be a nice addition to the 250. peace out, tony.

What does the oval emblem on the tank say? Man that thing is cool.

Yeah.... that lil TIGER 80 put out 23 hp stock. My 350X stock is only rated at 28 I think! As light as it is and the 2 stroke zip, that things would fly!

Hey hrc200x. That emblem on the tank is plastic engraved as a Tiger head. If u look hard enough you can barely see it!

Why would you tear down a barn with stuff still in it, and even then you wouldn't pour cement over whatever you just wrecked, i dunno wouw cement would afect it, may have crushed it.

The 80cc Tiger did not come with a Rotax engine, it was the only Tiger that didnt, it came with a KTM 80 engine the same one that the KTM 80MX dirtbike came with 86-89

I believe that holic gave us this history lesson earlier. The 80 KTM engine that the tiger 80 used was manufactured by Rotax for KTM.

Heres a question...If the tiger 80 was used for racing, who raced it? I don't think they would have put a 9 year old on one. Was it raced by short adults? :D

Well believe it or not there was a nine year old that raced this little 80 Tiger back in the 80's. Terry Lasion was the local tiger dealer here back in the 80's and when I called him about this 80 I have, he told me his kid raced it 4 or 5 times, now this is the kicker, the one that was hard for me to believe or even fathom, his child was a 9yr old, a 9 year old Girl.    I guess it's possible and he has no reason to lie about it, he's a great guy and alot of people in this town know or atleast know of him. I dated this girl in Jr. High that rode dirt bikes, she had a RM 80. The first day I go to her house I see some kid riding this dirt bike like I would never ride one, hitting jumps throwing it sideways acting all crazy, well guess what it was my girlfriend Becky, I was shocked. I knew after dating her awhile she seemed different than other girls, she was very pretty but always acted so tough, well guess what, I find out after high school that she came out of the closet, she was gay . Then It all seemed to make since to me.
