I think they just put letters up there to look cool like the others. I mean what does kxt stand for? Xylophone?

I think Suzuki did the same thing. Maybe it stands for All Lack a Tire.

YTM made sense, but now what about YFZ? The examples go on. It's just letters probably.

I doubt it.

Kawasaki off road bikes.

K = always means kawasaki.

L = off road dual purpose 4 stroke (not race) I.E. KLR650

E= (when not accompanied by L) off road dual purpose 2 stroke (not race) I.E. KE100

T = Trike/three wheels I.E. KLT, KXT

X = off road race 2 stroke (when not accompanied by F) I.E. KX250, KXT250

XF = off road race four stroke I.E. KX250F, KX450F

Those letters always mean something.

You guys are over analyzing. It's a fricken nomenclature, it denotes a model and doesn't have to mean anything else.

I would ghost, but i'm sure the average guy doesnt care lol..... Add a Z for Kawi street bikes, then everything makes more (or less) sense.

Z= on road four stroke. I.E. Kz650

X= means race/track bike again, accompanied by z, four stroke on road race/track bike. I.E. Zx-10

G= shaft drive (on suzukis as well) I.E. ZG1000 (shaft drive street four stroke,Kawasaki Concours)

N= cruiser I.E. BN125, VN2000 (125 Eliminator, and the Vulcan 2000, which by the way has the largest engine ever available in a mass produced motorcycle. 103 mm bore. 125 cubic inches. 140 ft. lbs of torque. 5th gear tire smoke. )

Go Team Green.
