The 400ex and 350x use the same style bulb and will interchange. Going to a 400ex bulb is a step back though since it's a 35w high and low where as the 350x is a 35/36.5w bulb. The 350x stator puts out 200w and has plenty of power to run higher watt blubs. I've seen some offered in dennis kirk but with the small amount of night riding I do it would be a waste.

Hey how would these work? Are these the ones you were talking about Dynofox?

I just realized that I have been using this bulb, which is actually not even 35...LOL it's only 25, so I've been cheating myself out of 20 watts even from the stocker one

I do sometimes a good bit of night riding, and heck for 2.99 apiece and 60 watt! they are worth a try. I see that the glass part seems to be quite a bit bigger, and I think they are somewhat longer, need to get my headlight out in a minute and measure the clearance on the depth. I don't think the width of the bulb itself would be any problem.

That first bulb looks more like a older 200X bulb. Due to the duel, smaller headlights, the opening on the 350X bulb isn't much larger than the base. The top one looks too big around to fit in the 350X lens. The second bulb looks the part of the ones that are in my headlights; however it's only 25W. I priced the replacement ones at HONDA and they want something ridiculous like $25 a piece for the 35W/36.5W stock bulb. Soooo.... I found a place in Cali that had a brand new, never been used complete headlight assembly for $80! heheehheheh

Pumper: As long as the bulb has the same base as the 350x does it should work fine. If you end up getting them let us know how they work. When I was at our local honda dealer picking up some oil and filters I checked the price on a headlight bulb since I thought I needed one (ended up being a ground problem for the light) and was shocked they were so expensive!

If you put your dimmer inbetween hi and lo both the hi and lo beams will come on at the same time, but since its drawing so much they almost go out at idle, at least mine do, I just tried this once, dont' know if its bad for it or not.

if the stators reallly put out 200, then I don't see how running both sets high and low would stress it that much? how does it do if you are just cruising along??? I didn't think about the fatter glass part not fitting up in the housing, that would be the killer there. Oh well, I'm sure some can be found somewhere for cheap. I'm not about to pay 50 or 60 bucks for bulbs to get 10 more watts.
