The Tri-Zinger tank fits but you have to cut the top of the airbox cover out fot hte top to stick through. The tank just sits in the frame and the cover holds it in place.
Most people use the tri-zinger tank. You must trim the airbox top so the top of the zinger tank sticks out. Goku can help you there!
I have some sort of translucent rectangular plastic tank under mine, with a hole cut in the top for gas inlet and cap only. All you see is the cap on mine. It was on there when I bought it a few years back so I don't know where the tank came from. It has the words "full" and "add" on the side. My best guess is that its some sort of coolant or some other reservoir from some vehicle. I replaced the cap that came with it with the gas cap off my old 78 DT 175 to give it a more motorcycle/ATV look. Threads were perfect, but I made a gasket to help the cap seal on top. The airbox cover holds it in nicely!
Mine looks like CRAP compared to that. Look back on some posts, you'll see a post about mounting a Zinger tank in there.

it prolly only holds like 1/2 -1 gallon of gas hmm im going to look into it though id bet a radiater over flow tank or wind shield washer tank from some type of car would work. like an import or something. ill let yah guys no if/when i find one that fits under the cover.
I fogot to mention the one drawback....mine only holds 1 gallon :(
Good for tracks. Not good for long trail rides! :D
What does the zinger tank hold?

Thanks guys for all your information i have ready taken the hole air box out and its going to be run in the back somewhere so if that hole air box is out then i shouldn't have to cut any holes because i really dont want to cut a hole in the top cover that says yamaha on it on any means if that is what you need to cut a hole in
So any of you guys have a zinger tank
Thanks alot
you don't have to cut a hole through the top of the airbox cover. find a tank that fits under it and you then you can just remove the airbox lid to fill the tank up each time. not much harder than removing the seat to fill up the stock tank in my opinion.
How are you going to relocate the stock airbox to the back of the trike? before I did that, i'd try to turn the airbox into a fuel cell. Just run a Clamp-On type filter with an outerwears cover. they have water proof covers, but if you like to play submarine your better off leaving everything stock in my humble opinion.
The zinger tank doesn't hold anymore than my tank. I've been wanting for a long time to build a custom aluminum tank to run under the airbox cover and maximize the area inside for fuel. at least try to get to 1.5 or 2 gallons. I need to get to measuring! :D
