ypu thats right, its all free, :o unless you need to go get some tools. this may be an old trick, but i never knew it could be used on my 225dr. well here it goes. Take both wheels off the trike, yes both the back wheels. you may need a couple jacks or blocks to hold the trike up. ok, now swap the wheels from left to right and vise versa, now turn the wheels around so that the stem is facing the bake disc in the rear, not outward. your tread should be oriented. now reinstall the wheels. Whalla! you have added 2+ inches to your 225. My dr's wheels have 1 1/4 in more ofset on the other side of the rim so i got 2 1/2 inches more width. the extra stability is worth having the stems on the inside of the rims. the bike feels so much more stable than before! Enjoi! :-D
Same thing for stock Tri-Z Rims. They are offset. Turn them around for a wider stance!
On a side note, sometimes I turn the rims around on my 86 Tecate to make it narrower for storage and transporting. One time I left them turned around and rode for a while. Tecates are somewhat narrow anyway and with the rims turned around it was pretty tippy! very easy to turn but you better lean! :D

The same trick applies to the 1973 atc70. Not sure if it will work on other 70 models, chances are it will.

I hear you edog.... I got a Durablue extended rear axle.... not sure if I'll put on the Yamahauler with the too large tires to space them out, or put it on the 225DX I have eventually.... guess it works on both shaft drive models.
