Does the Red have two different shoe types front to rear? Mine does and I wonder if that's stock or somethings not original equipment. I'm also having trouble properly fitting a cotter pin into the castle nut on the left rear wheel. I got one in that will do the job but only one leg would fit. Perhaps another symptom of cobbled parts.
Here are the shoes that came off,

Notice the rounded pivot end.

And These are the ones I keep getting shipped to me which have grooved pivots,

The first ones fit the back and the seconds, the front.

Oh by the way I bought a Big Red. Not bad for $600. Runs and the light worked until I got it home and started fooling with it. Just like the machinery I am working with, electrical is my weakest link.
Got a carb kit and rear brake seals in the mail today. Replaced all cables so far. All it really needs now is rear brake shoes. Tires haven't got long to live though.
All I need to go ripping is the right shoes. UGH! I hate two week delivery times!

The first pic of the dirty shoes are correct for the back and the second pic is correct for the front. EBC 315 for the back and EBC 306 for the front.

Thank you sir. That lifts a weight off my shoulders. I was starting to worry that I had a frankentrike on my hands.
Tutorial bookmarked! Guides are so very helpful. Always been enthralled by maps and diagrams and exploded views and such. Thanks for taking the time to provide it for everyone.

You're welcome. Do you have the manual for the ES?

Yes I have a manual in .pdf but its annoying. Can't search through it as it's one big scan. Would love to have a better one if you know of any.

I agree, that emanual is a pain to look through.
