Are you looking to buy a used one or to find out who makes new ones? JEMCO makes new ones, and I believe LRD has made a couple but those may have been one-offs. BDT will make you one and it will be beautiful but major $$$$$.

I know NWrider was selling alot of parts for the 86 t3. When I bought some parts from him he did have several pipes too, Awnser, Jemco, FMF and a few others.... Send him a PM but be prepaired to open your wallet the 86 parts can get spendy.

I saw the white brothers on eBay, but looks in bad shape. Everything on my bike is new.

Just curious, what do you mean by "the most power". Pipes are designed to make peak/max power in different rpm ranges.

1. TRAIL PIPE = Bottom end power.

2. MX PIPE = Mid range power.

3. ROAD RACE PIPE = Top end power.

These pipes should also be matched to the porting style of the cylinder. A custom pipe might best serve your needs.

If you want something temporary until you get a pipe and you are running the stock silencer, you can simply remove it and install a straight through one if you don't need a spark arrestor. It will run much better. We spent a ton of time test riding and dyno testing several different pipes for the 86 model and I can assure you that you may install an aftermarket pipe and not be as happy with it as the stock pipe. Different is not always better.

It’s kinda hard to make a Tecate or ANY Honda run much better than this.

The KAWASAKI Tecate…the most power and fastest 3 wheeler in the universe!

Ok Barn...you're stupid!

What size is it?

You are likely better off with a custom pipe because the existing aftermarket pipes are designed for 250 cc's. They will work on it but will not be the best match. Even custom pipes are rarely ideal unless they build then test several variations to find the best one.

At Kawi, it finally came down to two two different pipes. one was the current, mid range pipe and the other was more of a top end pipe and the dyno showed more hp with the top end pipe so all the engineers figured that is the one i would pick. Well when they were actually tested in the dirt and not on the dyno, the current y3 pipe performed better overall so that is what i went with. the other pipe did have more top end and peak rpm but the power deliver was not as smooth and had less mid and was more like a light switch.

I also tested pipes for my friends Harry Klemm and Dave Miller aka DG and FMF, and they too gave me more than just one style to test.

I guess what I'm getting at or trying to say is that even if you spend $600.00 on a custom pipe, it might not be as good as it possibly can and you might be disappointed. It's really kinda of a bummer but pipes definitely are rocket science and it takes some trial and error to get it right but unfortunately, that is done with your money, not the pipe builders, lol.

None of the aftermarket pipes I'm aware of are geared towards producing many more peak rpm's so they might not fit your bill anyway.

Also, there is another thing that few people are aware of which doesn't really apply to you, it's just some trivia. Those bikes have rev limiters, and the bike in stock form, will hit it if you try hard. Well there are several people that put on these fancy high hp pipes and do all this whazoo porting and lock the power valves open and say it has so much more top end rpm. Well it doesn't because they still never hit the rev limiter. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-laughing013.gif

You will have to call JEMCO if you want to talk to John. I believe the "White Brothers" on ebay is a white brothers silencer and a ??? headpipe.

My 250r pipe was in the $450 range with triple plate chrome. Not bad for a custom handmade pipe IMO..

You're not going to find a custom pipe for an 86-87 Tecate for only $450.00. It will likely be at least $600.00, like I said. If you wanna play, ya gotta pay. Building a high perf anything properly, is not cheap.

Harry Klemm refers people to Power Pros. This is not to say that Arlen's stuff is not as good. His stuff is xlnt and I've known of him for a zillion years because he used to do work on some of the guys bikes I used to race against on the Pro circuit. Power Pros might simply be less expensive, maybe not.

Try both numbers.

Well must be because he already has a bunch of ATC and TRX 250r pipes made up which he is most known for. $1,000 does sound kinda nutty for a pipe. He's also quit making pipes for ATC250r's unless its a custom order and maybe that's where the price difference is. Mine was already made for his Mid port job and was just hanging on the shelf. Handmade yes, but not a full on custom pipe like your needing for the T3. Hope you find one though!

Thanks for the phone #.. I'm going to finish the bike with the DG (it's brand new in the box) and finish KX500 build. I'll leave the pipe for last.

Someone just told me the FMF from the T4 works great. Is this a fact?

The FMF pipe is a POS on the T4. Thanks for the input..

Just guessing, it will probably fit, but the front portion will probably stick out too far and rub the front tire.

I can't use that one, that works great on my T4. It's the only one I have.. I have a few FMF for the T4. I guess I'll try one when I'm at that point if no one knows if it works.

Yeah I have never heard of anyone trying one but kx500 goes in the T4 and they always make a pipe, so basically the way I see it is the 250 or 500 the pipe is different. I havent seen anyone here try it recently but I am sure someone has looked at it. If I owned both I would be tempted to look at another option. I thought they had different exhaust angles and/or cylinder angles, but my T4 knowledge is limited.
