85-86 Atc 250r seat question

I just picked up a 86 and it needs a seat cover and the form has a piece ripped off it. I bought a 85 seat that has good foam but when i put it next to the 86 seat the 86 seat seems to have thicker foam. Is there a difference between the two years or is my 86 seat possibly after market. Thanks for any help new to the 250r's

86 is thicker that the 85. you can always just slap the 85 seat on it the 86's place, they have the same seat pan bolting pattern etc.

Ok cool thanks ill see if my upholstery shop can repair foam.

Jason is correct. The 86 seat was roughly and inch and a half or so taller than the 85 seat. The logos were also differenct.
