Check out this ebay link  . The price of new ones at Service Honda are 33.99 each and these are used and he's got shipping charges to boot. I guess people dont research what they need and just bid, bid, bid. Good for the seller though.

Well I know some of the parts you guys say you Cannot get, My local dealer claims to be able to get. Maybe that guys dealer said they are unavailiable, so He was doing whatever it took to get a pair, and wasnt awair he could stil get them. Or he just assumed liek so many peopel do, that Ebay is the way, and mayeb he also assumed they were Dis continued.

just my 2 cents- Tyler

Once he gets it parted out he will have enuff cash to go buy 2 more and do it all over again. I know, I've been there, now I buy parts to rebuild them.

Just because Service Honda's website will quote you a price does not mean the part exists.
I have tried to get many parts that the website will give a price for only to have them declared obsolete after placing the order.

Have you purchased these scoops from Honda recently?
Maybe not so silly?

As a matter of fact, yes I have purchased TWO COMPLETE sets of plastic for my 86 R minus the black tanks. All from service honda and it wasn't very long ago.

Opening bid was $15.00, so the seller cant be blamed for hosing anyone.

Reminds me of any early auction of mine. I bought a 200X gasket kit from DK. I used one case gasket, and offered the rest of the kit on Ebay, and it sold for $2 more than I paid for the complete kit.

Sometimes you make out, sometimes you lose, but if the item is accurately described, the responsibility of teh price falls on the bidders who made it that high.

Some people have to win an auction no matter what, for example I had a 85-89 chrome front brake res. guard for a 250r. I listed it for 9.99. It sold for 65 dollars. I found two more on ebay a week later for 15 dollars buy it now. Most of my items that sold for a rediculus price were bought by new members. I have had a couple like that that realize they have way over bid an item and ask if they can pay less than they bid. I did cut one guy a break and shipped it for free and the other one payed what he bid plus shipping because he had 0 feedback, I figured he wouldn't pay but he did. I always get the people with 0 feedback that never pay. I think I had about 5 or 6 of them last year. I had one bidder buy a chrome rear brake lever and a pair of chrome footpegs for a 250r for $110 each and was so happy about it. Another guy bought a front hub, radiator brackets, and a rear shock part, all chrome and payed almost $300. I have lost a bundle to as well on parts. Sold a MINT front tire and wheel for $1.75, sold a very nice rear fender for 40 and told the guy $15 to ship it. I dropped it off at my local honda shop for them to ship through fed ex. I get my bill a couple weeks later and it cost me $65 to ship it. I payed that guy to take my fender  ...live and learn I guess.

Some people have to win an auction no matter what,

You are absolutely correct with that statement (I will win no matter what). Wish those folks would find my auctions.
Someone on here turned me onto esnipe and its great no more watching at the last minute. Now I just "set it and forget it".
