I would like to begin on a project Honda trike and start from the frame up (well, actually the engine, so I can have it already rebuilt and ready to mount into the frame). What kind should I build? I would love to start a 200x but the engines, I can't find for cheap!! (anyone got one for cheap?) and also I would like a chain driven one that has suspension. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

well....200x parts are the easiest to find...big time....everyone has parts.....just ask around and im sure you can find a cheap engine....as for all the other parts, everyone has them for sale.....i would worry about the engine for it before the frame....so pretty much, im saying, go with the 200x

ive always wanted to build a 200X with a 200s motor, so it would have auto clutch. mabey a 200x top end, slightly modified, but the bottom end would be from the S. Then you would have a real bushwhacker trike with good brakes and suspension. I wish I had a 200X rolling chassy.

Use a 1983 185s motor in a 83-85 200x chassis. I have built about a dozen of them and find they are faster than the 200s motor in a 200x chassis. I don't know why but the 185s motor do have plenty of power.

speaking of that howdy....me and my neibor did that awhile back, the 200x engine was really crappy and needed a rebuild, and we had no money...but he had a old 185 out back so we just threw that on, it bolted right on, no modifications...it worked good, he sold it so he could get money to fix up his tri-z

Ok, thanks Howdy and 84ATC250R. I am going to go ahead and mount the 200x motor in the frame, but i'll keep the 185 as my spare. Oh, by the way, i posted an ad in the classifieds for a 200x engine so if you got one, give me a shout. Thanks

Pretty sure XR200 Engine would work for you also. Might have to beef up the clutch though. Have to take the seat & fenders off to fire it up. Definately go with a 200 style motor. They're still pumping them out as we speak. ;)
