I have a 1984 200ES, and its hard or almost impossible to do a wheelie UNLESS I really pull the front handle bars up.. while on the throttle of course ;)
ANYWAYS my buddy has a 200ES also and can easily do wheelies.. why?

Sit as far back on the seat as you can and lots of throttle in first gear.....that should do it. The other way is to put one knee on the seat and lean back with lots of throttle in first gear.

a. Because his is really a stroker engine.
b. Because he is simply better at it than you.
c. Because he weighs 75 lbs less than you.
d. All of the above.

Does your engine smoke? Maybe low on compression. Lots of factors that make a 30 year old motor not as powerful as it once was. His might have recently got rebuilt. Maybe an oversize piston. Who knows.

Or not enough practice. Give me an 84 Big Red with 60 lbs of compression and a clutch that doesn't exist and I'll still have it pointed at the sky. The mechanical advantage that motor has in first gear is ridiculous and enough to compensate for a clapped out engine.

wheelies are played out........now run that ES up to 35 or so and yank the front brake HARD with your jackoff arm and do an endo (young'uns call them "stoppies")
now there`s a trick! Dazzle your friends and piss off your wife!
then, yank up on the handlebars REALLY hard, throw one leg over the headset with the bars on full lock one handed and hop around....its called The Cherry Picker
your welcome
halfpipe trike lessons are in the next episode

Jack Mehoff... He has the best wheelie arms around!
This thread is wild, start to finish!
My 200ES didn't like to wheelie either. Front forks were collapsed and it had trail pros all the way around so it sat like the Motown Missle (nose low, ass in the air). That made it waaayyyyy harder to wheelie cause you'd have to pull all that weight waaaaayyyyyyy up and back to reach the balance point.
Leave the 200ES nose on the ground, go find a 110, 185S/200S, 200X or 350X if you wanna wheelie. ANYTHING OTHER THAN A BIG RED. Or trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro tie the rear of that big red to a stump and then to the rear rack. She'll wheelie

you well starve you engine/oil pump of oil doing wheelies
so 3 wheelers were never designed to go up dunes or hills? the oil pick up in the back of then engine for a reason. if the oil level is super low I could see that, but Ive been doing wheelies on my trikes for years and never have an issue. take a bottom end apart and analyses it and you will see

191633I'm thinking a thread titled "wheelies" might be a good place to get some of this done, lol.
If wheelies blew trike engines up I wouldn't ride trikes!

Finally, on to something. Loose power band, makes total sense now.
Might wanna change the fuel mix too, at least 100:1 for good wheelies on a 4 stroke.

Does your engine smoke?Yes, perhaps it has emphysema.
Might wanna change the fuel mix too, at least 100:1 for good wheelies on a 4 stroke.Be sure to use oil with high levels of ZDDP!
take a bottom end apart and analyses it and you will seeThe last time I did that I found it to be very dirty.

It’s time to be serious for a moment. The fact is that wheelies promote uneven tire wear between the front and rear and that being that there are only 3 wheels on the vehicle the task of keeping up with tire rotation becomes arduous. Just grow up and stop it!
I also think we also need to be careful about joking about names on here. Need I remind you all of the tragic day that we lost four members when those two Scottish lads, Ben Dover and Phillip MeCrack got into it with Neil and Bob from San Francisco? That escalated out of control faster than any of them could shake a stick.

See....this is how chops busting should play out. We have sufficiently mocked the living hell out of several members both subtle and not and NOBODY got upset....Bravo!
