purchased a set of 18x11x8" fast trekkers for the 500R, but I bought a set of 8x8" .190 T-9 Pro Series Wheels to mount them on. After doing some looking around I am concerned they are going to bend real easy and I should have gone with a stronger wheel. I want to get into some fun stuff like MX and what have you but some info I have found suggests I am going to taco these wheels out. Do i have to sink $300 on beadlockers?! I went with an 8" wheel instead of a 10" wheel so i wouldnt bend them, but now im worried they will still bend.

on a fun side note, i contacted ITP about my 240$ ITP 10x8 wheels that are bent and the black coating is coming off in chunks, they are looking into replacing under their 'lifetime waranty'. Pretty stoked about that! Would a 10x8 ITP BAJA wheel hold up to 18" tires and jumping? They have the reinforcement ring around the outer lip. I have noticed them on other people's bikes that MX and appear to be pretty commonly used

Jason, The 8" rims will give a bit more sidewall to the tire which should help reduce the rim damage. I ran 18-11-8 trekkers for years on some really cheap rims and never had any huge dings or issues. If I did dent them I beat them back with a hammer.

It's totally amazing how different Fast Trekkers can look in different sizes.

Here's 18x11x10

This is a 20" tire on an 8" rim I believe, not positive the exact numbers. I'll look tomorrow.

Its nice looking at these pics, I just picked up a pair of 18-11-8 Turf Tamers for my Tecate. I really like the way those Trekkers look, that may be my next pair I buy.

thanks for the pics!

The .190 wheel in the Douglas line is a good riim, and if yours from pro series are you are fine. I have been running an old school fastline rim equivalent size and no issues. I don't jump the highest but enough to know a.190 rim should hold up. Sure I would like bead locks but your a month away, run what you have and hope you get to race again at that track and maybe more!

Thanks Mike, these wheels and tires are for the 500, planning ahead for trikefest and anyother jumping I can do. I don't think the track in sikeston will consider fast Trekkers as being flat track tires so I will have to find another set of tires and wheels to run for that event. Speaking of which, I need to hit up BKM to make these wheels gold to match the front wheel on the 500!

Thanks for the input on the wheels guys, I will get some bead locks if I bend these. For now it's time for some flying lessons lol

I agree completely man, they look awesome in 18" tires. I have a Set of 20x10x10 Trekkers on the 310 on 10" wheels and couldn't be happier with the look

That being said, I stepped down to the 18" tires to slow the cr500 motor down a bit. Its just geared too tall to use first with 20" tires. I want ride-ability lol. Went with 8" wheels to avoid bending the wheels, I have seen other 18" Trekkers and whes that looked great IMO. Guess we will see!
