So I found a 85' 250ES on craigslist for $650 that looked in good condition. You know what they say if its too good to be true it probably is. I drove 2hrs in 30-40 mph winds with snow drifting (white out on the way home). Well I got there and it fit the exact description of "Rode hard and put away wet". Plus the RR fender was totally broken off which wasn't the way it was in the picture. None the less it ran good, shifted good. I bought it, plus he game me a spare motor with it. So I had the start to assess the damage. Needed all new brake cables. Removed the brake drums and found them full of mud. Put in all new shoes. Removed the front fork. Front bearings shot, tube full of water. New bearings and seals. Dissembled shocks. Full of water. New seals, oil, and boots. Brake handles bent. Replaced. Tires were original and it went nowhere. PMed Doug after seeing his "Black in Back" trike. I saw his tire setup and said yup. So I went with ITP 12" steel wheels. The rear tires are 26x12-12 ITP Mud Lite. The front is 26x9-12 ITP Meyhem. Removed the racks and painted. Ordered up some Maier rear fenders off ebay and finally got to ride it for real. All I can say is amazing. I do have to say the tires make everything. Thanks again Doug for the tips!190595190596190597190598

Nice trike I know you probally got frustrated by spending all that money. But think about it this way a new 4-wheeler cost about 5-6000 dolars and you spent less than that and got a better bike.

Ya I totally justified it after. Especially since I proved I can go places that TRX in the pic cant. Not that the TRX is a bad machine but I put it to shame through my woods in the snow.

Do you remember the offsets on your wheels? I have the mudslides on mine and stock wheels and your offset looks more than mine and I like it. Think I am going to do this to my big red. Nice atc man.

What is the size comparison to the Big Red and the Fourtrax 350 it's sitting next too. Hard to tell in the pics.

The offset is 2.0+5.0 front and rear. The front seems just a hair off center when your looking at it but drives straight. Got them off rocky mountain for $35 each. The Big Red and the TRX are about the same width but the red handles and grips way better with the tire setup. My TRX even has all new Carlisle 489's on it but as soon as one of those front tires start spinning your back at 2wd and have nowhere near the tread to the ground that a pair of 12x26 tires have.
