it is a 83 200x and it runs and idels pretty good but has no power or accelaration, i put a rebuilt carb in it and still runs like trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro. i took the stator off yesterday and was in poor condtion, and the stator case had been crack and JB welded back togather

Without any other testing, if the trike runs I would say the stator is good. How is the compression?...ignition timing?...valve adjustment? This is where I would start.

ya, if you stator went bad you wouldn't have enough of a spark to fire. I would check your carb, fuel leel in the bowl, or air mixture. Does it run better or worse with the choke on?

Sounds like you are running too lean. this would effect anything past idle. Try turing the air pilot screw in just a little or change the clip on the throttle needle. Another thought is just that the fuel level is low in the bowl. The shop manual has an easy way to check that with the carb still on the bike. Hope this gets you somewhere. Has this trike run aliright for you in the past or is it a new machine you are trying to trouble shoot? Do you have a shop manual?

there are two sides to a stator, the spark side then if you have lights the charging side ,had a raptor awhile back that the lighting side went bad but still had fire!
