Well...? It appears the kicker is on the wrong side, water pump on the wrong side, and sprockets on the wrong side.... (For being a water pumper) and I am not a pinger guy...
Looks like an 83-ish CR250 mill? or 82 CR125? a little tall to be a 125 but looks just like mine
and a short track kit too? with a 350X front end,,,

Frame has alot of modding, Early Cr 250 mill? 350x forks for sure. Never seen radiator fins like that.

I don't think is a 350 front end is it? If you look at the pic of the left side you can see the caliper mount s on the wrong side, the fork needs to be spun around?

well here is what some of it is, 83 cr250 frame, 83 cr250 motor, fmf trx250r exhaust, trx/atc swinger with axle flipped, atc 250r short track tank, and there's more :)
Haha thats so awesome!! I figured something was up with the frame cause of how the grab bar is inside of the subframe.
If it isnt a 350X front end, are those tri-z forks?

I went in thinking the guy miss listed the bike as a 83 cr250r 3 wheeler. When I saw pic of the short track tank and 85/86 style exhaust header, and seat and the kicker was on the wrong side, I was thinking it was a 85 atc 250r with a 83 cr250 motor swap. But when I got there I found that they used a lot of stuff off the cr250. The guy wanted a lot for the bike and I got him way down on price as there are some scary parts of this bike (as far as stuff being bolted on). The bike runs but needs work. Kind of on the fence with this one as I was going to buy it to get parts for my 86 250r Im building or restore it. I have 3 projects right now (150cc Piranha ATC 70, 86 250r, 86 Tecate) and really only planned on doing a Tri-z project in the future but who knows. I will sit on this one for a while and see what stirs up.

Judging by the aspect of the distance between the brake guide mount and the top caliper mount hole, my new guess on the frontend is 2nd gen 250r, possibly 83 like the motor.....
Also the tubes look a little bigger than the X, and the trees look a bit more narrow.
:idea:Ya, pretty sure thats what it is:D
I say slowly bring it back into ridable shape,,, It would make a great piece to freak people out with lol

Cool, I find it very interesting. I would love to hear some more about it, and maybe some more pics when you have time. especially the "scary" bolt on stuff you mentioned. Nice find.

well, found out some more info. Looks like the rear end is not a 250r. The swingarm is a 86/87 200x and the axle and rearend stuff is probably 200x. It has a extended axle and most likely the front end is also 86/87 200x. Ill get more pics when I got some time.
Thanks

NOT a 200x carrier. 100% sure.
I'm with atc300r, looks 85 250r.
NOT 200x fork legs. 100% sure.
Again, looks like 83-84 250r forks.
Lookup a picture of a 200x fork, any year. Where the axle boss is by the caliper mount, the casting just kind of rounds away into the leg casting. On the 83-84 250r forks, the casting has a thick defined line running from the axle boss to the leg casting, just like the ones on your bike.
Measure the fork tubes. They will be 35mm. 200x is 33mm.

well after some pondering I have decided to build this bike back up but with a different approach. I sold the short track tank setup and tore bike down. I still have everything for the bike. I am thinking I want to build my ATC 125R out of this thing. The frame has been heavily modified. Its a 83 CR250r front frame mated to a 85/86 250r rear frame. I have the complete cr250 motor but its tore down if anyone has a same year cr125 (81-88ish) they would trade or sell. I am thinking the cr125 motor should swap right in with maybe a top motor mount mod. I plan on using a 80's CR fuel tank if its possible. I will set it back up for flat track racing so shes gonna sit low. Also was thinking about using a 88/89 trx swingarm if it will work to shorten the swingarm length and get a nice looking swinger. I probably wont start on this project for a few months as I am in the middle of building my new shop (hence why I sold short track tank to help pay for shop) for the next 3 or so months. But once done I have many projects to get started on.

Also I am working on finding out info on this front tire and rim setup. Its a 10" front rim. I have a few of Xowner's 10 inch front rims and this setup is not one of them. I am going to see what bike it came from and whats needed to make work.

This kind of trike, has me written all over it. Take a little of this, add a bunch of that, and stand back and let people scratch their heads.
VERY COOL find. Build it to suit you, stand back, and let people wonder what you have. :D

I would flip the forks and redo it just the way it is, those CR250's are pretty fast, plus this thing may have history we don't know about.

Yea, I might stick the 250 back in as I still have the motor, I just took off the cylinder to check out the bore. It runs so should be easy from that stand point. We will see. I doubt there is any history behind this machine as it has a mix of 83 and trx/atc 85-86 parts. The story I got was the bike came from Florida and was built by the guy who I bought it from, buddy. The kid I bought this from wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed so not sure if his buddy did a half as restore or what. As of now if I am going to run the 250 motor I need 85 ATC 250r seat, cr Fuel Tank, a 250r exhaust.

Are the edges of the hub cut or ground down to fit inside the bell of the wheel? if so Prolly an Early Douglas front wheel.

I have been working on this bike over the last week trying to identify whats what and what setup is needed. Here are some pics. So far I found out that swingarm and rear axle is 85-86 250r, Front forks are 83-84 250r. I will be adding 83-84 250r rear caliper assembly if it will work. Was thinking about a CR style tank but think I will stick with ATC 250r tank.211298211297211296211295
