Value on 85-86 250r short track kit?

I might have a line on a bike with a short track tank. I am wondering the value on the kit if it was in good condition (no breaks on brackets and shrouds, not faded, etc). I have seen kits go from $500-1400. I am looking at the bike with the mind set to rob some parts off it and sell off the rest.
